A pet-friendly hotel that doesn't cater to dogs is like a restaurant serving food without flavor. It's not genuine hospitality. Hotels need to realize that for many, a dog isn't just a pet; it's family, and family deserves good hospitality.

We certified the Kimpton Canary as dog-friendly, they scored an awesome A rank, making them a great choice for dog owners visiting Santa Barbara. As you would expect from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, dogs stay for free! They provide food and water bowls and free treats, they have no size or weight limits, and they will even walk your dog for you if you need them to. It is just a shame that dogs are not allowed in your bar and restaurant, Debbie Chicca, it means you can't really enjoy the hotel when you are with your dog. https://lnkd.in/d6b_YSNy
We certified the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria as dog-friendly; it scored a respectable B rank, making it a good choice for dog owners visiting Sorrento, Italy. This hotel shares many of the same characteristics as A-ranking hotels; for example, it provides beds and bowls, can organize dog walking, has a garden for you to use, and, best of all, dogs stay for free at this hotel. They do not have an A rank because they lack canine inclusivity, which is non-existent at the hotel. Dogs are not allowed in the bar, restaurant, or communal areas, meaning you cannot enjoy this hotel with your dog. They also have a vague weight limit and allow "small to medium" sized dogs, something we see at hotels that selectively use weight limits to decide which dogs can stay. It is a shame, Guido Fiorentino and Luca Fiorentino; by every other measure, you should be an A-ranking hotel, but your level of inclusivity shames you and calls into question your commitment to being dog friendly. https://lnkd.in/dBm69egN
We certified The Dolder Grand as dog-friendly, and they scored an awesome A rank, making them a great choice for dog owners visiting Zurich. They have a chef-designed dog menu (Hunde Karte) with no less than four different meal options for your dog to choose from, and dogs are welcome in their bars, restaurants, and throughout the hotel, showcasing their canine inclusivity. They provide beds, bowls, and treats and can even take your dog for a walk if you need them to, making them one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Zurich. We certified the InterContinental Montreal as dog-friendly, they scored a disappointing D rank, making them a barely acceptable choice for dog owners. Canine inclusivity is nonexistent, dogs are not allowed in the bar, restaurant, terrace, or public areas. They also fail to provide basic amenities like a bed, or food and water bowls. But in return for a $40 per night canine tax, you get some dog treats, a small travel bowl, a small blanket, and a plush toy.
