When Carl came out as the first gay active player in the NFL, he directed all of the attention to The Trevor Project. Since then he has donated and fundraised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support our life-saving work, and continues to drive conversations around mental health in meaningful ways. Most recently, Carl joined Trevor’s Interim CEO, Peggy Rajski, to announce the Cleveland Browns’ round 2 draft pick. The broadcast reached screens across the country and many viewers learned about The Trevor Project’s lifesaving work and resources for the first time.
