Are you getting enough leads? If we had to guess, most of you would say you could use more. It seems that the challenge of finding opportunities for new business is a universal problem. In this month's blog post from Bob Kennedy, he talks about the importance of strategy -- how focusing on your company's core can help you win leads. Many SMBs in the supply chain world cannot blow out a sizable budget to spend on filling the top of the funnel. Strategies to attract new leads must be cost effective. It seems that too many people chase whatever leads they can find, without consideration for their probability of winning. That can be a huge expense when you don’t win. The RC Kennedy Consulting team wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving! This is one of Bob's favorite holidays because he gets to pontificate about one of his favorite topics: the Pilgrims. Below are some fun historical facts to share with family and friends around the dinner table. DID YOU KNOW? - After the first winter in Plymouth, only 52 of the original 104 Mayflower passengers survived. Yet, today, about 30 million Americans can claim to be descendants from those 52. That’s nearly 1 in 10. - Famous Mayflower descendants include Marilyn Monroe, Sarah Palin, Hugh Hefner, Christopher Lloyd, Clint Eastwood, the Baldwin brothers, and seven presidents (Adams, Taylor, Grant, Garfield, FDR, and the Bushes). - According to early Pilgrim records, the first Thanksgiving included corn, duck, geese, venison (courtesy of the Wampanoag), and of course, turkey. Historians also expect that they ate shellfish and eels. - The modern practice of a day of Thanksgiving on the last Thursday in November was established by Lincoln in 1863 as a way of reuniting a war-torn country. We hope you have a wonderful holiday.

One of the most common problems I see during the WMS implementation process is a customer who underestimates the importance of getting buy-in from the workforce. You know the ones: they are the people on the floor who have worked with the existing system for years and hold critical knowledge about how things actually work. They’re comfortable with the way things are. They know the ins and outs. They can make decisions or adjustments and have reasonable expectations about the results. They’ve built a daily rhythm and routine – all based on their existing system. And now you’re just… changing everything? In this month's blog post, Bob Kennedy shares findings from a recent Gartner survey that supports what years of experience has taught him: that managing "internal change resistance" can make or break your WMS implementation.
