In today's highly commoditized and competitive multifamily market, property marketers are tapping into rewards programs as a way to attract prospective renters and boost retention and satisfaction. However, keeping these digital incentives relevant beyond their launch remains a challenge. CEO Michael Broder connected with Jordana Rothberg at Multi-Housing News to discuss which residential rewards programs perform the best and how voice-of-the-customer data can be a tool to achieving consumer stickiness and long-term engagement. “You’re trying to align the incentive in the reward program to the life stage and lifestyles and the interests of those populations,” Broder said. “And the only way you can do that is to understand who’s in your building, what they do, what they enjoy and then think ‘how do I build these programs around the things that they like most?’” Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/enEQsc2v

RCRKBX CEO Michael Broder and Chief Research Officer Kevin Hudak spoke to William Wadsack at Bisnow to dive into their recent Dallas-Fort Worth Demand Index and explore what property features, attributes and preferences are tipping the scale for renter decision-making. With 82% of DFW renters characterized as "utilitarian" vs 18% described as "tastemaker renters," criteria such as rental costs and fees (32%), safety and security (27%) and proximity to work (10%) come out on top over amenities. “All the bells and whistles are important, but … fundamental drivers of renter demand still come down to utilitarian criteria,” Hudak said. “The tastemaker options really help check the box when you're on a tour [or] when you're eliminating one building versus another when they're across the street from each other.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ezbrpTBv

Last week, RCKRBX CEO and cofounder Michael Broder spoke at Connect CRE Connect Dallas #Multifamily event where he shared insights that illustrate a disconnect when it comes to the type of room renters want, "stats show only 18% of all prospective renters want a 1-bedroom unit, but the supply is 53%. Developers need to take a serious look at the mix of units they are building.” Read the full article below. https://lnkd.in/gYYvT88X

RCKRBX CEO Michael Broder connected with reporter Jack Rogers at the GlobeSt.com. #Multifamily Spring conference following the State of the Industry panel to further address the conundrum of the current multifamily supply not meeting renters' new demands. "Across the country, according to our renter demand data, 67% of renters in every market are looking for a larger type than they were historically. It’s fundamentally upside down," he continued. “Prior to the pandemic, there were 3.3 million Americans in remote or hybrid work. Today, there are more than 98 million Americans in a remote or hybrid environment,” Broder said. “Think about what that means in terms of the amount of space they need to live and work.” Read more in the article below. https://lnkd.in/ej2yVUa9

To kick off the month of March, RCKRBX CEO, Michael Broder, was featured in the latest issue of The Mann Report , discussing the inspiration behind the launch of RCKRBX, the problems the platform is solving for, and noteworthy trends standing out to the team across active multifamily markets. "Particularly, there is a historic rise in office-to-residential conversions taking place in Washington D.C., and that could potentially contribute to a renter-driven economy. This is where demand-side data will be particularly crucial, providing holistic pictures on not just how ground-up projects will perform, but what opportunities exist for conversions as well as repositionings."
