Road Safety Audit 3D reports provide new insights into potential safety deficiencies that a traditional workflow might miss. Take this Intersection Sight Distance study conducted at Howell Branch Rd/ Hall Rd and SR 426: Each ray provides a data table that shows information of visibility, target size, distance, etc. From this study, the 3D analysis concluded that there is a right turn deficiency, permissive left turn deficiency, and a stopping sight distance deficiency. Engaging the public in infrastructure projects is crucial for creating effective and community-focused roadway designs.
Effectively communicating the complexities of engineering to the stakeholder public can be challenging unless you have the right software. 123 BIM simplifies this process and makes it easier for local community members, like Bob, to engage with the project. Different from traditional 2D/3D boards, this software allows Bob to explore virtual reality and see exactly how the proposed project will impact him. It is also easily sharable through a mobile link where Bob can revisit the model as new alternatives are added. To learn more about how this software can help your company improve public involvement email gary@realimagesolutions.com or check out www.realimagesolutions.com. #PublicInvolvement #Infrastructure #RoadwayDesign

Great to see the 2025 AASHTO Washington Briefing prioritizing safety! Strong collaboration between DOTs, public health, and local agencies is key to reducing roadway fatalities.
At this years American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) briefing in Washington, a common agreement was met: Safety needs to be at the center of all transportation and infrastructure actions moving forward. To make this happen, many states have stated their intention to collaborate on improved transportation systems and safety initiatives. Senate EPW leaders emphasize a bipartisan approach to transportation priorities, focusing on highway worker safety in the upcoming reauthorization bill.
During the 2025 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Washington Briefing, the big ticket item discussed was the transportation issues that need to be addressed in the next federal surface transportation reauthorization funding package. Besides improved safety measures for roadway workers, there was talk of the importance of updating transportation infrastructure to be able to withstand more severe weather events like the hurricanes and wildfires we have seen devastate the country over the past few months.
