🌟 An exciting milestone reached for the REALLOCATE project! 🌍 We are looking forward to continuing our work to co-create safer, more inclusive streets, enhance sustainable mobility, and share innovative solutions with cities across Europe, paving the way for climate-neutral neighborhoods and healthier communities 🚲🌱
REALLOCATE project completed its first 1.5 year: 🔎 Many important things 🚲 🏫 🚡 🦽 have been happening to improve streets so that they can serve the needs of all road users and citizens in a safe manner, and create healthy and climate neutral streets & neighborhoods, and eventually climate neutral cities. - Co-creation 🆗: Solutions developed with feedback from many local stakeholders and citizen groups are implemented in 10 EU cities. - Many of the cities target school zone safety 🚸 improvements and ways to encourage young generations to move sustainably. - Road space is re-designed with the objective to increase 🚲 and pedestrian modal share. - Public space is improved and extended by implementing tactical urbanism concepts along with more greenery and street furniture that are eco-friendly and circular ♻️ 📊 📋 Data collection and decision-making tools: for its various needs, REALLOCATE collects data with innovative tools such as #LiDAR for pedestrian infrastructure or crowdsourced data for safety and comfort, and examines new design scenarios via #VR glasses. ➡️ Knowledge from the project will be shared with 11 Cascade Cities.
