Thank you. For helping our youth learn new skills, experience new activities, visit new places, and build meaningful relationships. Thank you for bringing joy to so many students. Thanks to you, we've raised $92,000 (and counting!) between our 29th anniversary and GivingTuesday campaigns. We are truly blown away by the generosity and support of our community. If you're looking to make an #impact and bring #joy to youth this holiday season, there's still time to help us reach our $100,000 fundraising goal before the end of the year! We have two individual donors who have pledged to match that dollar-for-dollar. That's $200,000 for R.O.C.K. students and families in 2024! As part of the San Francisco Examiner's #Thanksgiving publication, staff writer Allyson Aleksey composed a piece that speaks to the deep, full-circle impact that R.O.C.K. has on the Visitacion Valley Community. In this article, Tristan Warmsley, R.O.C.K. alumna and Site Coordinator at Visitacion Valley Elementary School, shares about her experience growing up in our District 10 neighborhood and reflects on how her students today face many of the same struggles. Tristan and Executive Director Curt Yagi both agree that consistency is key for the youth we serve, and the more we can engage families and support the whole child, the more impactful our programs and #CommunitySchool model will be. Check out the article to see how our research-backed programs are helping San Francisco youth thrive. https://lnkd.in/gvD3whj5

We are so grateful and honored to share that R.O.C.K. is one of 69 organizations to receive a 2024-25 grant from the Golden State Warriors Community Foundation! As if that weren't enough, our Executive Director, Curt Yagi, and Associate Director of Development, Hayley Walker, MNA, were invited to join an on-court check presentation prior to last night's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Since 2012, the Warriors Community Foundation has contributed more than $47 million to organizations supporting education and youth development. Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.) is seeking board members. Do you or anyone you know have an interest in positively impacting thousands of children and their families in San Francisco? We seek young to seasoned professionals in San Francisco or the immediate surrounding area who have the capacity to volunteer in our programs at least twice per year. We seek candidates who possess both a strategic mindset and a can-do and will-do attitude, who can take the lead on a specific project of their choosing. Lastly, we look for individuals who we know we would enjoy sharing a drink with!

On Monday, we celebrated three decades of impact with R.O.C.K. Connect 30 on the Ohana Floor at Salesforce Tower. Not only were we surrounded by 360 degree views of this beautiful city and the San Francisco Bay, but also by the people who make up the foundation of R.O.C.K.: our alumni, volunteers, community partners, donors, staff, friends, and families. We heard powerful stories from two inspirational R.O.C.K. alumni, Zuhair and Marissa, as well as our Executive Director of 21 years, Curt Yagi. The views were incredible, the food and drinks were top tier, but the most wonderful part of this special event was our community. Your support and energy are what keeps us going year after year and decade after decade. Thank you to our emcee, Ama Daetz, as well as our event partners, caterers, bartenders, sponsors, and of course, YOU, our R.O.C.K. Community! We had a blast celebrating 30 years with you, and we can't wait to see what the next 30 years have in store. Don't forget to check out the RC30 auction! Bidding closes on Monday, November 4th at 9:00pm PST. Bid now at https://lnkd.in/gDh6eaFf You can help us sustain R.O.C.K.'s programs for many more years to come by donating at https://lnkd.in/ggfGfhTR Cheers to 30 years! 🥂 Photos by Jim Colton and Guy Cummins, Pro Bono Photo
