Aaron Taylor, a former professional football player, is a prime example of an athlete successfully transitioning from sports to a second career. His journey sheds light on how difficult that process can be for many athletes. While Taylor’s transition from the NFL to a media career and his advocacy for mental health are inspiring, they also highlight the broader issue: too many athletes lack the proper guidance and support to help them navigate life after sports. The College of Charleston launched RealResponse's anonymous texting platform to report misconduct (e.g. alleged Title IX or hazing violations), or to seek help and resources. The first stage of this launch focuses on the fraternity and sorority communities and athletics. A campus-wide launch is planned for early 2025.
