Repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives for 30 years.

About us

Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley is a non-profit organization that performs critical home repairs and safety modifications for low-income homeowners, particularly seniors and individuals with disabilities, at no cost to them. Established in 1991, we are proud today to serve Santa Clara County. We engage volunteers to help us transform the lives of homeowners-in-need in their communities. During our largest community event, Rebuilding Day, thousands of volunteers gather to repair and revitalize 30-40 homes throughout Santa Clara County with the generous support and partnership of our sponsors. Our remaining programs allow us to be out in the community 5 days a week making critical repairs to peoples' homes. These services range from small safety modifications to making larger repairs that impact homeowners' health and safety. We also serve other non-profit organizations so that they can dedicate their resources to the community rather than to facility repair. Our office is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (408) 578-9519 info@rebuildingtogethersv.org Connect with us! @RTSiliconValley on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

  • Happy Fundraising Friday! It’s our very first #fundraisingfriday of the holiday season and we’re already off to a great start! We’re on a mission to raise $120,000 by 12/31 for our neighbors like Obdulia, a proud San Jose resident, who moved here over 35 years ago to work towards achieving the American Dream and to attend San Jose State University. While she worked hard to build her career, family, home, and community from the ground up as a mother, Guapa Housing Project volunteer, and community advocate, she found herself in need of help. Her bathroom no longer had running water, her tub became a hazard as she developed mobility issues, and the exterior of her once beautiful home became patched between one color and the original color peeking through. ✨Your support helped us make Obdulia’s home safer and we thank you for investing in our work! We’re already on our way to $120,000, and we know we’ll get there with your support! You can help us continue offering our free home repair services for our neighbors who depend on it most. • We’re a week away from Giving Tuesday! #GivingTuesday is a global movement that empowers individuals to give back to their communities and support the nonprofit partners that are making a significant difference in your local community!     This year, Giving Tuesday will be on 12/3.  If you haven’t had a chance to support us yet, Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to give a gift that will have a big impact! Last year, we raised over $7,000 on Giving Tuesday!     We’ll also be continuing our annual tradition of hosting our Donor Thank-A-Thon where we’re proud to give thanks to YOU for recognizing the importance of our life-changing work and we hope you’ll think of us when you participate in Giving Tuesday!

  • Happy #FundfraisingFriday! With Thanksgiving around the corner, we’re reflecting on what we’re thankful for. We are incredibly grateful that with your help, we’ve now raised $16,000 of our $120,000 goal!     We still have a long way to go before we reach our goal, but we’re confident that our community will step up and help us raise $120,000 by 12/31 for our local neighbors like Obdulia. https://lnkd.in/gDd_Rnn4     Obdulia worked hard to build her career, family, home, and community from the ground up as a mother, Guapa Housing Project volunteer, and community advocate. When she found herself in need of help, your support helped us restore running water in her bathroom, bring her independence and address her mobility challenges while bathing back with a tub to shower conversion, and provide her home with a fresh, new coat of paint.    When our community comes together to restore hope and safety for our neighbors like Obdulia, the impact endures multiple generations.     A gift of any amount makes a BIG difference! Will you join us today by giving a meaningful gift that helps us continue our life-changing critical home repair services? https://lnkd.in/gDd_Rnn4

  • Attending the Coalition for Home Repair #reframe conference this week. So proud to recognize our partners, Swinerton and The Swinerton Foundation, as a Partner of Excellence at last night’s Pinnacle Awards reception. Swinerton partners with Rebuilding Together affiliates across the nation to make #safe and #healthy housing a reality. Thank you for your dedicated partnership.

Congratulations to Lisa Feret on being named a 2024 National Partner of Excellence, nominated by Brothers Redevelopment, Inc. Elected to the Arvada City Council in November 2021, Lisa Feret has tirelessly worked to build stronger connections and foster engagement between residents and the city. In her first year on the council, Lisa worked to establish a formal housing committee. Lisa has been instrumental in advocating for and securing aging in place program funds. Her leadership, vision, and compassionate service have had a profound impact on the lives of Arvada residents, embodying the very essence of excellence in advocacy and partnership. Paving the way for WARM NC to grow in Southeast North Carolina

WARM NC does this same kind of work in Wilmington and surrounding counties in the Cape Fear Region. Thank you Bethany Morrison and Rebuilding Together for the great work you do in the Charlotte area and around the state and nation through the work of various affiliates. What wise words: "we cannot build ourselves out of this housing crisis." Maintaining the existing affordable housing stock is the most cost- effective way to address the issue. Both of these great organizations would love to have you Volunteer or support our cause.

Executive Director at Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, Inc.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an insightful event presented by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission, Mecklenburg County, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with Donovan Rypkema, who spoke powerfully about the critical role preservation plays in affordable housing strategies. His words struck a deep chord: "We are systematically tearing down what is affordable and building what is not." Between 1987 and 2021, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) enabled the creation of 3,550,000 affordable housing units, a crucial contribution to our nation's housing stock. Yet, during this same period, 11,479,000 housing units built before 1970 were lost forever. This is a stark reminder that we cannot simply “build our way out” of the affordable housing crisis; we must preserve and invest in the homes that already exist. At Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, we focus on repairing homes—many of which were built before 1970—to ensure they remain safe, healthy, and affordable for current residents. Every home we repair is one more preserved asset in our community’s affordable housing stock, preventing displacement and helping families stay in the communities they call home. Our work is a small but significant step toward preserving the affordable housing we cannot afford to lose. #AffordableHousing #Preservation #HousingCrisis #RebuildingTogether #CommunityImpact #WeAreRebuilders
