Friday, November 8 was REDCOM’s 2nd annual Veteran’s Day 5k Ruck, Run, or Walk to celebrate Veteran’s Day. We are proud to support our veteran colleagues by fostering a supportive community within the REDCOM network. With 18% of our workforce being U.S. veterans, we are extremely proud to recognize every member of our team who has served, and those who have served alongside them, today, and every day. As we take the time to complete this hike through Lehigh Crossing Park, we will be reflecting on the value our veteran colleagues bring to REDCOM; not only through their experience and knowledge of the systems we work with, but also the culture of dedication, determination, and camaraderie they provide. Thank you to everyone at REDCOM who has served, and to all our military customers.

REDCOM’s Eric Harrison, Harry Goluses, and Mike Gates recently completed a second round of testing for NetModX. This round took place outside the official window, letting REDCOM test Sigma’s capabilities in disconnected, intermittent, and limited-bandwidth environments with greater focus. Sigma met our expectations and functioned well as a session controller whenever a network was present. This event also allowed REDCOM to perform some additional testing with SATCOM, Silvus Systems, underground radios, and the opportunity to train some Army civilians who found the system very easy to learn. Electronic warfare is prevalent in several current conflicts, with near-peer adversaries disabling communications through electromagnetic interference and strikes targeting communication hubs via electromagnetic signatures. The Sigma XRI product line can mitigate the effects of electronic warfare through crossbanding and transcoding. This includes crossbanding waveforms that are resistant to electromagnetic interference, such as SATCOM and MANET systems with traditional RF waveforms, and by transcoding RF and IP networks towards distributed RF waveforms to reduce the likelihood of adversaries triangulating electromagnetic signatures. REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. has announced two new models in the Sigma XRI family of products: Sigma XRI-M4R and Sigma XRI-PCIe. These intelligent low-SWaP RoIP gateways deliver a full spectrum of C2 comms and radio interoperability, all powered by REDCOM Sigma software. The XRI-M4R and XRI-PCIe provide warfighters with additional opportunities to implement Sigma software and radio crossbanding, greatly expanding interoperability at the tactical edge. Sigma XRI-M4R is a slim 4-port radio gateway that can add radio gateway functionality to an existing Sigma installation or can act as an expansion to existing XRI-400 installations. Sigma XRI-PCIe is a 4-port radio gateway expansion card that installs into an available PCIe slot on a PC or server providing Sigma XRI to existing deployed tactical servers without increasing overhead.
