Kailyn Moore and Dan Pratt returned to Parsons School of Design - The New School today to guest lecture on Strategic Design. A big topic? Mastering a critical skill: defining problems well. 🔑 The first step in any successful project. Together, we explored face-value problems vs. true problems. Those that focus on symptoms and outputs vs. those embedded with insight and possibility. Face-Value Problems: → “We aren’t connecting with younger consumers. Help us refresh our image.” → “We want a new brand identity to better stand out among our competitors.” True Problems: → “We created our category, but newer competitors make us seem old, not like the OG.” → “We’re free to visit, but that alone doesn’t make us approachable.” Feel the difference? We’re excited to see how the class bring this lens to life in their projects this semester! Thank you for having us, Michael Sainato and Mark Randall!

Is there an ideal balance between remote and in-person work in 2025? Our CEO, Ivan Kayser, weighed in on this recently given WPP's return to a four-day in-office model, emphasizing that every agency needs to have a policy that's true to their own north star: “We need as many working models as agency cultures,” said Ivan Kayser, CEO of Stagwell’s Redscout, whose work arrangement Kayser describes as “remote first but not remote only” and “a continuous work in progress.” Read his full thoughts in this Digiday story by Tony Case: https://bit.ly/4jmuuZR

What's your biggest marketing prediction for 2025? Our CEO, Ivan Kayser, gave his in a recent interview with Lindsay Rittenhouse at Ad Age: “We’re not in an era of AI or human creativity, we’re in an era of “and.” And the shape of “and” looks like a barbell. On one end, we need powerful, breakthrough, culture-hitting creative ideas in order to standout in an algorithmic era. On the other end, we’ll leverage technology-enabled, AI-fueled platforms to produce and deploy deeply personalized messaging at scale. Successful creative agencies must purposefully invest and build around both ends of the barbell.” Read the full article below!👇
From AI to personalization, older creativity and a renewed focus on DEI, here are trends ad leaders expect (and hope) will come into play next year.
