We believe that transforming agriculture starts with transforming the landscapes it thrives in. A landscape is not just a collection of farms, it is an interconnected ecosystem where environmental, social, and economic factors shape its future. To that, we had two important questions: what does it take to build a climate-resilient, nature-positive region? And how can businesses source responsibly while driving long-term value for both farmers and ecosystems? Through our recent Masterclass on RPLCs at #BharatTex2025, we explored how a place-based approach can drive meaningful change, helping regions become more climate-resilient while creating value for businesses, farmers, and communities. By addressing landscape-level degradation and adopting less intensive, nature-friendly production models, we are helping farmers transition to regenerative practices that are not only good for the land but also beneficial for their livelihoods. Through strategic on-ground engagement and local partnerships, we are creating a framework where businesses can source responsibly while ensuring long-term sustainability. For the private sector, this approach brings multiple advantages. It helps businesses align their raw material sourcing strategies with sustainability goals, reduce emissions, and comply with emerging regulations. But more than that, it fosters transparency, something often lacking in traditional supply chains. By working with real data, we aim to build models and interventions that mitigate risks, enhance supply chain visibility, and create lasting impact. A key part of this transformation is Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV). Beyond just compliance, MRV is about measuring real impact. Businesses need more than just certification; tracking how materials are sourced, how emissions are reduced, and how regenerative interventions drive change. The goal for us is to create an MRV that make systems like ours scalable and replicable, ensuring that the insights gained from our interventions feed into government policies and regional development strategies. This masterclass was a great step in bringing together stakeholders committed to building sustainable landscapes. But the conversation does not stop here. We would love to hear from businesses looking to collaborate whether it is to develop responsible sourcing models, build transparency, or drive climate resilience at scale! #RPLC #MRV #supplychaintransparency #privatesectorengagement Bharat Tex 2025, Laudes Foundation, IDH, BESTSELLER | Litul Baruah, Vikram Sharma, Danique Lodewijks

Amol Gawande, represented our Secretariat at the Indore Division-level workshop on Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhar. With over 100 participants including government officials, service providers, and experts came together from eight RPLC districts to discuss one shared goal: making agriculture more sustainable, resilient, and farmer-friendly. We have witnessed what is possible. The work done under PKVY is now being replicated in 33 districts across MP, with nine service providers leading the way. One of our RPLC implementing partners, AKRSP-India, is rolling it out in five districts, covering 5,000 hectares helping farmers transition to regenerative farming practices that restore soil health and reduce dependency on chemicals. Under NMNF, a massive 1,513 clusters are being identified across the state to further scale these efforts. This was a moment of real convergence in action. With RPLC deeply embedded in these landscapes, we are seeing how collaboration between government initiatives, local service providers, and community-driven efforts can create real impact. #regenerativeagiculture #RPLC #climateresilience Laudes Foundation, WWF-India, IDH, IDH India

In Madhya Pradesh RPLC is more than just an initiative, it is a movement towards sustainable development of the landscape. To bring its impact to life, we have created a video featuring key stakeholders who are driving this transformation. This video showcases how our farmers, the government, civil society organizations, and private sector partners are working together to shift towards regenerative agriculture, a system that restores natural resources, enhances climate resilience, and improves farmer livelihoods. Why are we sharing this? Because RPLC is about collaboration. By engaging with policymakers, supporting farmer producer organisations, and promoting sustainable land and water use, we are ensuring that regenerative agriculture is reaching communities in the region. The impact? Farmers gain better market access, food and fibre companies adopt sustainable sourcing, and systemic changes take root for long-term transformation. What do we hope to achieve? A future where farming does not just sustain, but regenerates; empowering farmers, strengthening rural economies, and protecting our planet. #RPLC #collaborativeeffort #climatechange Laudes Foundation, IDH, WWF-India, Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative Pakistan, Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative Pakistan

Last week, we hosted 'Mehnat Ke Rang', with Jan Sahas an event dedicated to celebrating the hard work, resilience, and dreams of farmers, farm laborers, and migrant workers. These individuals don’t just build homes, harvest crops, or lay roads—they build our nation, brick by brick, leaf by leaf. Through activities like 'Mera Safar aur Safar Ke Sathi', we heard their heartfelt stories of migration, the challenges they have faced, the strength they have found, and the bonds that have supported them along the way. In 'Mera Sapna', they shared their dreams, of better lives for their families, financial independence, and education for their children. We also took time to reflect on their contributions to 'Bharat Ka Nirman', highlighting their role in shaping our infrastructure, economy, and communities. Furthermore, the cultural performances brought joy and pride, celebrating the vibrant heritage of migrant communities while fostering a sense of unity. What stood out most from the get together was the strength and determination of these communities, despite the challenges they face. It became clear how important it is to build trust and foster community bonds while raising awareness about their rights and avail existing benefits. Above all, the joy of seeing individuals feel truly heard and valued was reminder of the importance of these events in empowering marginalised workers. This event highlighted our ongoing commitment to ensure safety, security, and mobility for vulnerable migrant families, to not only empower them, but also the tools and support they need to thrive. #RPLC #migrantworkers #socialsecurity #buildingIndiatogether Laudes Foundation, WWF-India, IDH, IDH India

Healthy soil is the foundation of regenerative agriculture, and at RPLC, we support farmers in building stronger, more resilient landscapes. Experts like Ashish are leading the way, teaching a combination of tradition with innovation to restore soil fertility. Reflecting on his efforts, he shares: "To understand our soil’s fertility, we test samples every year monitoring pH levels, organic carbon, and NPK values. These insights help us track improvements and identify what is needed next. We document everything in the Kisan Pustika (an internal notebook) to keep a detailed record of progress. While encouraging organic practices was challenging initially, showing tangible results inspired farmers to embrace change." Ashish’s story reminds us that small, consistent efforts lead to meaningful transformation. Stay tuned for more inspiring stories from the field! #soilhealth #regenerativeagriculture #soilfertility Development Support Centre ✅, Laudes Foundation

This week, I had the opportunity to visit and meet implementers and farmers of Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative, executed by SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action) at Sausar of Pandhurna. There, I witnessed firsthand the application of all the five principles of Regenerative Agriculture. 🌱 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 - It's of course not completely "no tillage" but tillage has been reduced to the level possible by using cattle. Usage of chemicals has also vanished. 🌼 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐬 - I could see land covered sufficiently enough to check any kind of erosion. Green manuring via Sunn Hemp is largely promoted - sown along with cotton, later incorporated into the soil - improving organic matter and controlling weeds. 🍃 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 - Farmers with access to water go for green gram however even farmers who don't have enough water are able to have living roots in the soil for almost 11 months. Farmers were of the view that soil structure has improved holding the soil moisture longer. 🦋 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 - While cotton is main crop, pigeon pea is intercrop, marigold is catch crop, castor is promoted as border crop and then there are bund plantation of native species. While the area falls into Satpura-Pench corridor, farmers admit while earlier they could see only parrots, now they see many birds and bees on their land. 🐄 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 - As told by project folks, they have strategically selected only those farmers who have cattle - use of FYM, compost et al is widespread. Could see goatery and poultry also practiced on the farm. The farm we visited strengthened my belief on the 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐌 approach of Regenerative Agriculture: ✔️Enhanced 𝐏roductivity (per unit of land, money, labour et al) - yield went up by 28%, cost reduced. ✔️Improved Farm 𝐑esilience - farmers say at this time of the year, plants which look green would have dried. Better porosity was evident. ✔️Control on 𝐄mission - Pre-intervention SOC of 0.35% (as told) improved to 0.48% in a year. Next soil test is due. ✔️Linkage to Remunerative 𝐌arkets - was told these farmers are able to get some premium on their cotton. In fact, they are all organic - certified or in process of certification. I also visited the newly-constructed Bio Resource Center (BRC), operated by women SHG members producing 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝑱𝒆𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒎𝒓𝒊𝒕, 𝑨𝒎𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊 and other similar products. Additionally, witnessed the bio-fermenter and biochar unit being set up there. I look forward to seeing it operate in a financially sustainable manner. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Manvendra Singh, Sandip Bhujel, Rajneesh Vishwakarma, Atul Dhotare, KAVITA SONEKAR and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲 for their remarkable work and for providing me with this invaluable learning opportunity - you guys helped me close 2024 on a steep and fulfilling learning curve.
