Howdy! This past semester at A&M, I proudly served as the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Jr. Representative for TAMU SHPE under the External Affairs Committee. I applied for this position with the goal of becoming more involved in SHPE through my passion for mentoring and guiding students. TAMU SHPE has provided me with opportunities to do just that and so much more. This experience has challenged me to be confident as I present in front of others, and believe in my leadership capabilities as I navigate my education. It has allowed me to inspire and educate high school students about careers in STEM by dedicating my efforts to creating engaging STEM workshops for them. I am excited to carry forward all that I have learned from those around me and my participation as we enter the spring semester, especially as I organize ACE Camp- a three-day STEM Camp- with Esteban Ortiz. Additionally, I had a great time volunteering for events organized by other committee representatives while working with SHPE members to create memorable experiences for students. Thank you to everyone who continuously shows up for the students and makes the events and committee possible!
