Related Midwest and Related Affordable are proud to announce two Illinois students are among the 11 recipients of scholarships awarded annually by the Related Affordable Foundation. Each year, the Foundation distributes scholarships to deserving high school seniors who live in affordable housing communities across the country aiming to reduce financial barriers and empower young adults to pursue higher education. We would like to extend our congratulations to Kemarion and Ryan on this achievement.

Yesterday, Related Midwest Joined PUSH for Excellence and Rainbow PUSH Coalition to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Related Midwest’s own Mark Goeden was honored with the “Innovative Urban Development Award,” one of eight individuals who were recognized by PUSH yesterday for significant contributions in the areas of urban development, social justice, education and humanitarian work. For more than a decade, Related Midwest has supported PUSH’s efforts to advocate for social change.

HOOPCycle recently installed a mobile basketball and permanent art mural at The National Public Housing Museum at Related's Roosevelt Square development. HOOPCycle is designed to spark dialogue around equity, space, and community-building as it travels to neighborhoods nationwide. Related Midwest recently hosted Professional Women in Construction Chicago Chapter and Revolution Workshop to discuss ways the teams can come together for collaboration in 2025 and beyond. The group discussed ways PWC can provide mentorship and support the expansion of RW's Professional Pathways Program, which provides 14 weeks of expert training in project management, building systems and more.

Related Midwest is proud to bring the state-of-the-art Advocate Hospital to the Southeast Side. Advocate’s investment and commitment will add 1,000 new employees and catalyze future investment that brings complementary uses to the 8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive development, the 7th Ward and the surrounding South Chicago neighborhoods. Our ability to secure yet another anchor institution underscores our commitment to redevelop the site. We look forward to welcoming Advocate to this transformative development.

Related Midwest participated in a toy drive for the children in the 7th and 10th Wards of South Chicago. These toys will benefit the community near Related’s development site, 8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive. We are proud to support this community and spread holiday cheer this season.

DuSable Lake Shore Drive with a new National Quantum Algorithm Center. Related Midwest’s Curt Bailey joined Gov. JB Pritzker and fellow members of the Ad-Hoc Missing Middle Housing Solutions Advisory Committee to unveil groundbreaking initiatives to address the full spectrum of housing needs across Illinois. Illinois is taking bold steps to make housing accessible for all, and as one of the region’s leading developers of affordable and mixed-income housing, Related Midwest is proud to support this crucial initiative.

Last week, a 22 feet long and 22,000 pound link beam was hoisted in 400 Lake Shore's North Tower. This is a significant milestone for Related Midwest, LR Contracting Company and BOWA Construction team members, along with various subcontractors who helped bring this important moment to fruition. 400 Lake Shore will bring new luxury and affordable housing options along the lakefront, as well as add 4.5 acres of green and open space to Streeterville.
