  • #Asthma is a dynamic condition that can change over time due to factors such as age, lifestyle, and exposure to triggers. A care plan that worked well last year may no longer be as effective. Regularly updating your care plan ensures that it aligns with your current needs and helps prevent flare-ups, especially during challenging seasons like winter, when cold air and respiratory infections can exacerbate symptoms. • Seafood allergies, including allergies to shellfish and fish, are caused by an overreaction of the immune system to certain proteins found in seafood. Common culprits include: Tropomyosin: A muscle protein in shellfish like shrimp, crab, and lobster that often triggers allergic reactions. Parvalbumin: A protein in the muscles of fish, such as cod or salmon, known to cause fish allergies. Cross-Reactivity: Those allergic to one type of seafood may react to related species due to shared proteins. Histamine Sensitivity: Improperly stored fish can accumulate high levels of histamine, causing an allergy-like reaction (scombroid poisoning) that mimics symptoms. Symptoms range from mild (hives, nasal congestion) to severe (anaphylaxis). These allergies can develop at any age and are often lifelong. If you suspect a seafood allergy, consult an allergist for testing and guidance on management, especially during seafood-heavy holiday gatherings. #Reliefasi #relief #seafood #allergies
