While attending the AURP International Conference in Bentonville, Arkansas, our team seized the opportunity to explore the vibrant city that welcomed us. From traversing the world-renowned trails -- a big shoutout to our VP of Planning and Public Policy Travis Crayton, AICP for tackling the bike paths in the "Mountain Biking Capital of the World!" -- to immersing in the breathtaking American art collection at Crystal Bridges Museum, Bentonville provided inspiration at every turn. Innovation flourishes not only in boardrooms but also in the places we visit, the connections we forge and the ideas we exchange. We are truly grateful for the chance to engage with both the conference and the unique culture that Bentonville had to offer!

Our leadership team recently attended the Association of University Research Parks (AURP)’s 2024 International Conference in Arkansas, joining over 300 global leaders from research parks and innovation districts to exchange ideas and shape the future of innovation ecosystems. With this year’s theme, 'All Trails Lead to Innovation,' the conference sparked dynamic discussions around regional innovation, workforce development and leveraging technology hubs to tackle today’s critical challenges. We are especially proud to celebrate our CEO, Scott Levitan, for his years of service and dedication as an AURP Board member. His contributions to advancing the mission of AURP and the broader innovation ecosystem were recognized at the event as he transitions off the Board. Inspired by the insights and connections gained, The RTF leadership team returned ready to implement actionable ideas to continue driving growth and opportunity in our region. Thank you AURP for planning another inspiring slate of speakers and sessions with tangible takeaways for members to implement for their regions.

🚀 Congratulations are in order for Chancellor Dr. Karrie G. Dixon and North Carolina Central University, which has received a $1 million grant from Google to establish the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Equity Research (IAIER). This groundbreaking initiative will not only lead advancements in ethical AI but also prepare 200+ students for leadership roles in this transformative field. As the first program of its kind at an HBCU, IAIER will promote equity in AI development, ensuring that underserved communities are included in tech's future. This means a stronger, more inclusive tech workforce and innovation that benefits everyone. We’re proud to see NCCU’s leadership, Google’s commitment to equity and the collaboration between local institutions shaping a brighter, more inclusive future for the Triangle. 🔗Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eqxxidW6 #AIEquity #HBCUPride #NCCU #GoogleOrg #InnovationStartsHere #ResearchTrianglePark
