The Residential Solar Association (RSA) is a trade association of advocates and industry leaders committed to advancing solar energy in the residential sector. We welcome anyone who works in or collaborates with the industry, and we aim to drive meaningful impact across the industry. A cornerstone of RSA's mission is establishing and promoting best practices throughout the industry. As a member, you'll have exclusive access to training resources, RSA accreditations, educational opportunities, and a platform to collaborate with like-minded professionals. Beyond our community, we are actively seeking partnerships with governmental organizations and other nonprofits to create and deploy policies that work for everyone. Attn! Our solar family in the state of Utah needs our help! If you live in Utah (or have co-workers, employees, or customers in Utah) or can help bring awareness to this legislation, we have an opportunity to support getting a bill passed that would increase net metering in the state. This proposed S.B. 189 Net Metering Energy Amendment would apply for future customers and past customers who entered into net metering agreements since Oct 2020. It would basically take net metering back to how it was before the big drop in 2020. It isn't 1 to 1 net metering, but it would be 84%, which would be much better than it is now. Business owners, sales representatives, and homeowners alike all would benefit from S.B. 189 being passed in the state. TAKE ACTION: For those members who live in Utah, please reach out to your state senator (link in comments) and encourage them to see the value in voting YES for this bill. Make sure to include your address, so they know you are one of their constituents. This matter is time sensitive as we don't know when this will be voted on. However, the bill has already made it through the committee. Please share!
