King Cove, a remote Alaskan Native village 500 miles southwest of Anchorage, was hit hard when a fish processing plant closed recently. In response, Resolve Aviation offered locals half-price fares to King Cove with free freight (up to 60 pounds per family) for Thanksgiving. Working with the King Cove Tribal Office, we filled our Pilatus TurboProp to capacity, both outbound and return. Along the way, we dropped into False Pass and Cold Bay to bring family members home for the holidays. In all, 17 families accepted our offer plus a cameraman from Rare TV who filmed the trips for the series Ice Runways Alaska.

Resolve Marine supports local communities where we live and work. Communities like the City of Unalaska in the Aleutian Islands and home to Dutch Harbor, the largest fisheries port in the United States in terms of volume of seafood caught, for nearly every year since 1981. Dutch Harbor is home to our shipyard and drydock and busy year round serving Western Alaska. Our recent donation to the scholarship program of AAHP (Alaska Association of Harbormaster and Port Administrators) will support students pursuing a maritime-related education, critical to growing and skilling the next generation of marine industry professionals. As a company, we are strong believers that charitable contributions at a local level can make a difference across education, marine wildlife and marine ecosystems, the maritime industry and local community efforts. #Unalaska #DutchHarbor #ResolveAlaska #GivingBack #CommunitySupport

Pictured here L-R: Michael Ortiz, Dean of Enrollment, Maryanne Richards, Director of Career Services and Cameron.
