Check out this new short, seven minute film by Mollie Thompson, telling the story of human trafficking in an entirely new way. It’s also a powerful reminder of the need for collaboration if we are to win this fight. No one person, group, or organization can do it alone. Kudos to Atlas Free, Jeremy Valle John Richmond and all the others who helped produce and release this film. https://lnkd.in/e4uUXUQM

Back to DC to finish out a whirlwind week with training and meetings.

Finishing out the week back in Washington, DC. It was nice to be asked by the agency I just retired from to return and provide training yesterday on lessons learned from a labor exploitation case we investigated a couple of years ago and how we were able to do it from a victim centered approach. Then it was on to Capitol Hill for a late afternoon meeting regarding new legislation. Heading back to the Hill this morning. #retirednotretired #iamresolved

It was a great couple of days in Orlando working with the UCF Center for the Study of Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery and the University of Central Florida – Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Thank you Dr. Jessica Wickey Byrd, Tomas J. Lares Kimberly Brewster and the others for your contribution to this important work. We are doing some great things! Thank you to Sean Walker from G6 Hospitality LLC for making the trip to share best practices with students and the hospitality industry in Orlando. Back to Birmingham today and off to Washington, DC again tomorrow. #retirednotretired #iamresolved

This morning I had the opportunity to be back at the @DHS Center for Countering Human Trafficking with @Jennifer Zielinski, Executive Director of the Idaho Anti-Trafficking Coalition, for meetings with CCHT and to discuss ways to better collaborate in Idaho. Thank you to the CCHT for being wonderful hosts and for being gracious enough to welcome me back, albeit in a different capacity. More great meetings this afternoon with Joy Cover and Freedom 4/24 and longtime friend Katherine Chon. It’s been a great trip to DC! #retirednotretired #iamresolved

It was great to be at the U.S. Capitol yesterday with so many great survivor leaders, policy leaders, advocates, and Members of Congress all working together to help end human trafficking and exploitative crime. Let’s keep the momentum going and the pressure on our nation’s leaders to make these issues an ongoing priority and not merely political talking points in an election year. Thankfully, the bipartisan group of Congressional leaders involved in yesterday’s event are dedicated to these important issues and passing needed legislation regardless of campaign season or election year timeframes. Thank you again to Anne Basham and Ascend Consulting for arranging the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Roundtable. Thank you Tim Tebow for showing up and lending your voice as well! #retirednotretired #iamresolved Hollie Nadel Lindsey Lane Jan Edwards John Nehme Tanya Gould Jennifer Zielinski Lynn Shaw Catherine R. Back to DC this week. It’s a little surreal to be in our nation’s capital on September 11th, a day that forever changed all of our lives. We remember those lives lost on that day, and those since, as a result of that terrible day. We are here today, 23 years later, for meetings on the Hill, to participate in today’s Anti-Trafficking in Persons Roundtable with a number of survivors, NGOs, partner organizations, and Members of Congress. Thank you Anne Basham and Ascend Consulting for once again organizing this event and to Senators Marsha Blackburn , Richard Durbin and Ted Cruz; and Representatives Owens and Dean, for your commitment to these issues. It’s going to be a great day! Tanya Gould Dr. Katariina Rosenblatt, LLM, PhD #retirednotretired #iamresolved
