Touchdowns, Tie-Dye & Tons of Fun! 🏈🎨🍕 Today, we had an absolute blast hanging out with our friends at Horizon Day Camp - Baltimore for their fun-filled football-themed party! From face painting to slime making, tie-dye t-shirts, exciting games in the gym, and, of course, delicious pizza, the day was packed with joy, laughter, and connection. Horizon Day Camp provides summer camp and year-round programming free of charge for children affected by cancer and their siblings, ensuring that every child gets to experience the magic of childhood no matter their diagnosis. Their mission is to bring happiness, hope, and normalcy to kids and families navigating the cancer journey. We’re grateful to be a part of this special day and to support an organization making such a meaningful impact. This day is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting prevention, and advocating for advancements in detection and treatment. Established on February 4, 2000, during the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium in Paris, World Cancer Day serves as a global initiative to unite people in the fight against cancer. The theme for 2025-2027, “United by Unique,” emphasizes placing individuals and their stories at the heart of cancer care. By focusing on personalized care, we aim to address each person’s specific needs with compassion and empathy, leading to better health outcomes. At Respite Retreats, we are committed to supporting cancer patients, caregivers, and families by offering experiences that allow them to refuel their spirit and rediscover joy and connection. Our programs include in-person day retreats and the “ReTreat Yourself” initiative, providing holistic therapies and self-care resources to promote healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
