Receipts. You’ll be hearing more and more about it as the year goes on and it gets super saturated here. What does “receipts” mean? Finding people you align with because they have insights you find valuable, actionable or that intrigue you. Unfollowing those who cause too much noise in your feed. Sorting through what tid bits you can take that actually move the needle for your team and your business. At the Revenue Revelry event in November, Leslie Venetz asked me to present and I was honored. I dropped value on how traditionally, sellers are trained to hand over all the product information to buyers and then wonder why buyers ghost. It’s because we didn’t get any of their problem information, data, have no understanding of their world - yet they got it all from us (your product info)upfront. Why do they need your team? Shared a template I’ll be diving into during the Revolt (info coming soon - yes it’s free) on re-engaging your buyers. Melinda Mathews was at the Nov event, took notes, took it back to her team and sent me this. Receipts tell a story - ask for them! Ps. Inspired by Chris 🦄 Cicconi’s post today.

You know what I am insanely proud of? How hard I work to create the profession I want to work in and the world I want to live in. In 2022, I felt frustrated. Frustrated that every networking event was heavily booze-dominated. Frustrated as I returned to events to find out they were still 90% white men, on the stage and in the crowd. Frustrated that despite possessing series presentation chops, every application I submitted to speak at an event was getting declined. When I voiced that frustration, I realized immediately that I was far from alone. Folks were eager to attend smaller, more intimate events. Sellers were actively seeking opportunities to learn from more diverse voices. You were sick of massive events with overhead lighting from hell and the same 'ole folks talking AT the audience but never with them. I listened. I took action. I created Revenue Revelry We started hosting events in 2023 and have since held 3 extremely successful Sales Masterclass programs alongside legends like Chaniqua (Nikki) Ivey, Jen Allen-Knuth, ✨Shannon P., Celeste Berke Knisely, MTA and Nate Nasralla. I am SO pleased to announce our 2025 events. Two full-day content-led Sales Masterclass events. April 8 in Phoenix with Lori Richardson & Christine Rogers. Fall 2025 in Toronto with Randi-Sue Deckard 🔬 and other speakers TBD. Want to join us in April? Secure your ticket now: https://lnkd.in/gh-cEAAP

I've dreamed of writing a book since I was a child. I wrote quite a few short stories. As an adult, I thought maybe I'd write a cookbook or a fictional mystery in retirement. It was a dream, but not a goal. Five years ago, it became a goal. A passion. Five years ago, Andy Paul asked me when I was going to write a book. I sheepishly giggled and said, "Me? Hasn't everything that already needs to be said about sales been written?" Andy patiently guided me to the realization that a lot of sales books have been written, but none by me. He challenged me to pull all the sales & business books off my shelves and identify which were written by women or even had a female co-author. Color me embarrassed. It was 10%, maybe 15% of the books on my shelf. I sat with that dual realization. First, acknowledging that while I was claiming to be an advocate for women in sales, I was still consuming too little content written by women. *** This was actually the catalyst to start Business Book Club, which highlights historically underrepresented authors and is starting its 4th year in 2025 *** Second, that I do have a unique POV. One I had recently started gently exploring by sharing a few one-off posts on LinkedIn, but that I'd already shared with hundreds of sellers (both my own reps and the teams I was training via my side hustle). Years earlier, I'd started developing #EarnTheRight as my sales philosophy. It was the best way to describe how I approached sales and encouraged others to see sales as an honorable profession—a true craft. Working with external sales teams pushed me to do more naming—naming my frameworks, mindsets, and overall approach to selling. I continued to refine EARN but didn't think it would become a book. At the time, I was writing a book called The Art of Trying Again. It was my first attempt at non-fiction writing. It turned out to be the wrong book. Maybe Future Leslie will find this project again. I tried again in 2023, but the outcome felt more like a playbook. I wanted a B2C product but couldn't get my head around selling a sales course to teach other sellers how to sell... Instead, I launched Revenue Revelry to create a B2B play. Which, like #BusinessBookClub, amplifies the voices of folks who have been historically underrepresented on the stage at B2B sales events. In Jan 2024, I committed to writing a book that shared my unique POV as an IC, Sales Leader, & Founder. I knew the topic was how to apply EARN to Top of Funnel activities. The combination of my absolute passion for outbound and my deep belief that there is a better way to do it. It was years in the making. Many false starts. Book aspirations that turned into other projects that fill my cup and finally last month I delivered an 82,000-word manuscript to my publisher. I can't wait to share it with you in 2025. Your dreams may be what's holding you back. Sales professionals are ambitious by nature. They have big dreams, whether it’s exceeding quota, hitting accelerators, or advancing their careers. Dreams are not the same as goals. Too many folks have big dreams and when they don’t have a clear path to execution, they remain confused about why their dreams never come true. During my PATH Goal Setting workshop, I often start by asking: Is your team aligning their actions with their aspirations? For many, the answer is no. Without a framework, it’s easy for reps to lose focus, feel overwhelmed, or chase goals that aren’t realistic or actionable. That’s why I developed the PATH framework. PATH takes reps from "I have an aspiration" to "I have a specific set of daily and weekly actions that guarantee I will achieve my goal." The difference is incredible. This workshop is more than inspirational—it’s practical. Your team will walk away with tools they can use immediately, like backcasting techniques to break big goals into manageable steps and strategies to stay accountable to micro-actions. By the end of the session, reps leave feeling clear, confident and focused on what they need to do to achieve their goals. They’ll have a plan they can start implementing right away—one that feels both exciting and achievable. 📌 Looking for an inspirational topic for your SKO? My PATH Goal Setting workshop is a hit. I’ve shared this framework at events like Surf and Sales, Women in Sales Retreat, Revenue Revelry Yoga x Goal Setting workshop, and many corporate meetings. DM me if you’d like to talk about how to empower your team to align their actions with their aspirations.

3 email openers that devastate your open rates & why they don't work: 1. “I hope you’re well…” This is filler. Prospects don’t need small talk—they need relevance. 2. “My name is…” It’s too soon to talk about you—start with value. 3. “I just wanted to…” Shows uncertainty. Instead, state your purpose with confidence. What’s your biggest cold sales email ICK? #coldoutreach #salesemail #salescopywriting #coldemail

TFW: You lead a PATH Goal Setting workshop to help attendees create a set of micro-actions to bring their dreams alive and get this feedback. The results are resulting! Massive congrats to Katie Chatterton, MBA for doing the work. I LOVE LOVE LOVE leading PATH goal setting workshop. I've had the chance to lead it for my own team as well as many other corporate teams. More recently, I've had the chance to bring it to groups like The Surf and Sales Summit, Yoga x Goal Setting with Revenue Revelry, and Women in Sales. The impact that a single 90-minute workshop can have on the lives of attendees is the reason I do this work. There's a catch- The workshop is great & the PATH Framework is strong, but it's just a tool. Tools only work when used. Every bit of credit for the value of this workshop goes to the folks who take what they've learned and apply it. Cheers to align our actions with our aspirations!! P.S. If you're looking for an inspirational but practical session to add to your 2025 SKO, DM me so we can see if this PATH workshop is right for your team.

In the words of Elle Woods at the end of Legally Blonde, “We did it!” Saturday we packed a yoga studio with founders, sellers, and GTM leaders for a special yoga class designed for this commmunity. We infused Vedic philosophy into the practice, taking lessons that are literally thousands of years old, and appplying them to the challenges and goals we have today, to mindfully meditate on while moving and breathing: “Do every action you must do, and do not be attached to your actions’ fruits. Self-possessed, resolute, act without any thought of results, open to success or failure.” -Bhagavad Gita In other words, you are entitled to the action, but not the fruit of your actions. (LOTS to unpack behind this quote that kept everyone’s brain buzzing all afternoon). After class, Tom Alaimo and Leslie Venetz channeled the momentum into a powerful goal-setting workshop. The class + content + connections made this a stellar and successful outing for everyone. Feedback I’ve gotten includes: “I haven’t slept that good in a long time.” “I feel awesome and the goal setting was the reset I needed.” “Awesome event!” And more. I’ve wanted to bring yoga to this community in an intentional way for a long time, it just took the right team to execute and I’m so glad we finally did it. Should we do another one next year? #BelieveTheHype #GOATtoMarket #yoga

CEO @ TA Sales | Helping Sellers Build & Close More Pipeline

Chicago Sales Community does it again! This Saturday, I teamed up with a group of 15-20 sellers, leaders and entrepreneurs. Rajiv 'RajNATION' Nathan dropped us in to some amazing yoga with the notion of becoming detached from our goals. Then I helped the group think BIG about what 2025 could hold for them. Leslie Venetz closed the show with refining everyone’s “One Big Thing” and commit to an action step towards their journey. Plenty of time for people to mingle, get to know each other and connect off screen. That’s a hell of a Saturday right there! Chicago - Who wants more of these types of events in 2025 🙋?
