By electrifying your appliances, you can enjoy lower energy bills and a healthier home. But it doesn't have to be done all at once. Lori, mum of two, is slowly upgrading her home. Lori replaced her gas ducted heating to reverse cycle AC and saved $400 on her winter bill this year. Next up, she's upgrading her ageing gas hot water heating system. "Once we've fully electrified our house, I'm going to throw a party. It's going to be my reward for getting off gas."🎉 Have you made a plan about which gas-powered appliance you will electrify next? #electrifyeverything

The average Australian household spends $2700 per year on petrol, so it's great to see the government subsidise cheaper EV loans to help our essential workers and low to middle-income workers reduce that cost of living pressure. https://lnkd.in/gbMMdNFG

☀️ Rooftop solar and distributed energy resources will deliver the cheapest form of energy. Nuclear will be too expensive and too slow to solve any problems for Australia. “Electrification could bring $1.7 trillion in savings for Australian households but there is a risk that a focus on nuclear will prevent this cost of living dividend being realised," said Rewiring Australia Chief Scientist Dr Saul Griffith. Rewiring Australia backs the Victorian Government's proposed rule to phase out expensive gas appliances, which will lower energy bills and emissions for households across the state. "Thanks to this policy, more Victorians will have lower energy bills and healthier homes," said CEO Dan Cass. "We encourage all Victorians to electrify as many appliances as they can afford and get solar if they don't already have it. This will mean their energy bills are no longer held hostage by international gas companies." Read our full response here: https://bit.ly/4gdzU7u https://lnkd.in/gAmX4E5K
