JUST IN TIME FOR VALENTINE'S DAY - UTA's TRAX RED LINE "LOVE TRAIN" This Friday and Saturday, hop on the Utah Transit Authority's Love Train, a special TRAX Red Line trip. This year's onboard Valentine's celebration features live music by local artist Alli Brown and UTA heart-filled swag. UTA's Fun in Transit team continues to spread the love. ❤️

February is #BlackHistoryMonth and today, public transit agencies across the U.S. are celebrating what would have been the 112th birthday of civil rights activist Rosa Parks. She sparked a successful boycott against racial discrimination, leading to greater freedom of mobility and access to better jobs, education, recreation, healthcare, and more for all Americans.

A new TRAX light rail line is making its way to the station. Last month, the Utah Transit Authority finalized its plan for a new Orange Line route that will link Salt Lake City International Airport with the University of Utah’s Research Park. The new train is expected to roll in by 2032, and UTA plans to change the routes of its existing Red, Green and Blue TRAX lines — adding new destinations while making Salt Lake City’s light rail faster than ever. The transit agency selected a plan that it says will make the whole system faster and slightly better for the environment than other proposed options, according to a final report on the project. From engines to air brakes, the UTA Maintenance Roadeo is an opportunity for our bus technicians to test their skills, expertise, and knowledge when it comes to troubleshooting UTA buses. Once a year, teams of 3 from each of UTA's garages come together for friendly competition and a chance for the ultimate bragging rights. The teams are tested with 7 different events that cover separate areas of bus maintenance, from HVAC issues to a malfunctioning bus door. Congratulations to the winning team from our Meadowbrook Service Center, who will represent UTA at this year's International Bus Roadeo in Austin, Texas.
