  • The Council of Graduate Schools recently reported that graduate school enrollment is growing, especially among underrepresented groups, including Black and Latinx students. Some of this growth can be attributed to a stronger demand for advanced degrees in education and counseling. Why does this matter? As education graduates enter the workforce, they reduce the labor gap for teachers and school counselors. This is gravely important in the communities where many of our regional university partners operate. James Majors earned his MBA from Pittsburgh State University and shared that the professors “…actually took the terminology and the principles and taught you how to use them in practical application. We oftentimes would read scenarios that were semi-real world, where you would have to implement whatever lesson that you were learning...”
