Thanks for sharing, Patrick Schwarzkopf! Let's work together to continue with the speed and pragmatism that is needed!
Food for thought: news from Berlin and Beijing coincide this morning. 1. The German Chancellor's Future Council ("Zukunftsrat") has just met and proclaims "an update of the innovation system and transfer activities focused on key technologies of central importance". The text refers to: 👉 The recently established RIG (Robotics Institute Germany) 👉 The industrial robotics research consortium RoX (to be launched imminently) These initiatives were installed in lightning speed and we wholeheartedly support them! But more is announced: 👉 The promise of a funding environment for deeptech startups that will allow them to scale in the European capital market. (Badly and urgently needed!!!) 👉 Reduced bureaucratic burdens and an innovation-friendly regulatory framework. (We couldn't agree more!!!) 👉 New funding instruments ensuring that SMEs can embrace new ideas to turn them into scalable innovations. (Scaling is key here!!!) These are all good news, but we must make sure that we keep up the speed. 2. Beijing´s “Third Plenum Meeting” just announced a technology centered approach! (It's the plenary session of the 20th National Congress) You guessed right: Beijing wants to adapt to the new round of industrial transformation by specifically using ROBOTS as an engine for growth! China's policymakers have realized the role of robotics and automation for progress a long time ago. And now they are stepping up their game once more. Read the article by the International Federation of Robotics here: https://lnkd.in/eengyMku What do we take from this? The race is on. Is Europe / is Germany on the winning track? Please comment!
