A message from Amanda Mountain, president & CEO of Rocky Mountain Public Media: "I'm so sad to share the news of Cynthia Hessin's passing. While she hasn't worked at RMPBS in many years, she was a fixture at RMPBS. Cynthia hosted a public affairs show that ran every Friday on RMPBS called Colorado State of Mind and she was a venerable journalist deeply respected in her field. Cynthia passed away on Friday after a battle with cancer. It's an honor to be even a small part of her legacy." https://lnkd.in/gxuHkjvW

My Rocky Mountain PBS colleagues are doing stellar work to support small newsrooms across the state through capacity building workshops and community engagement opportunities to help them better understand and connect with the communities they serve. I wrote about their work in a new op-ed out today, "Rocky Mountain Public Media bursts the Colorado media bubble with Above the Noise newsroom partnership."
