Anybody that is in the business of oilwell maintenance, I would like to show you how the Rod Jack can simplify moving the Rod string for any reason. -Installing load cells. -changing out stuffing boxes. -spacing out Rod strings. Moving the Rod string with the pumpjack is very easy for some people. Talking to them, they tell me how easy it is, but in the same breath they tell me they slip the clamps. Ok, it works for them. I have changed out many polish rods with a rig, most of the time the damage is from slipping clamps. I know there are many that can set a well on tap/tag with in mins. This well took me 45 mins to get off tap. I have done both ways and I can perform this much faster and safer with the Rod Jack. When safety procedures call for locking out pumpjack, then I think using the Rod Jack for rod string movement is a better solution. In my opinion, having a crew moving your rod string with the Rod Jack will save money on equipment and downtime. We have a crew, Rod Jack and knuckleboom picker ready to go to work in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, BC. 170,000 orphan and idles wells in alberta. These are the numbers I have heard of. Let's say a good portion of those are oilwells. The gas wells should be ok other than surface vent communication. But the gas wells will still need to be serviced, greased, etc. The oilwells are the bigger concern. Packing and rod bop rubbers solidify over time. You want to reduce methane emmisions? The orphan/idle oilwells would be a good place to start. We have done up to 4 oilwell suspensions in a day. It's really not a big job, but it is a load of the shoulders for many producers or the #AER #OWA. Someone asked me if it's safe to lift the rod string with the polish rod clamp and rod jack. Well the pumpjack does it every hour of the day I said. And many insert pumps have been unseated with the pumpjack when that pump siezes on down stroke. It's, safe, more control and easy on equipment. I know I may sound like a broken record. But I believe 100% that the Rod Jack can and will save money on polish rods and bottomhole insert pumps. Another video of the Rod Jack testing the inactive well. Here’s what we do when testing those wells: 1. Shoot the fluid level down the casing to determine the static bottom hole pressure or reservoir pressure. 2. Determine the acoustic velocity (AV) for this well. If a tubing shot is needed, we will use the AV for that purpose. 3. Rig up our Rod Jack and lift the rod weight. Our load cell provides very precise weight readings. By knowing the rod weight, we can assess the integrity of the rod string. Lower weights may indicate parted rods or other issues. 4. Start stroking the well at about 3.5 SPM with a 30" stroke, while obtaining surface and pump cards. 5. Perform tubing pressure and valve leak tests. As a result, you’ll have a clear idea of whether to put this well into production or to move on and test another one. We provide you with vital well parameters, saving you time and money by avoiding blind acquisition of orphan wells. Let’s talk!
