Thank you, LinkedIn Community! The Rosales Sisters Scholarship had a great 2024. Because of your support we are planning our most ambitious set of events in 2025: a gala and a golf tournament. Our goal is to raise enough funds in 2025 in order to continue building programming and to have grant-writing resources in 2026. That said, instead of a year-end giving campaign today, we ask that you purchase early bird tickets for our 5th Annual Gala, Live Auction, Fundraiser, and/or our RSS Inaugural Golf Classic. Below is an insight into what these events will help foster. *Pricing goes up on January 1st, 2025.* Please join our newsletter for more information www.rsscholarship.com (or by commenting below!). 2024 Highlights and 2025 Goals: - In 2024, we awarded $50,000 in unrestricted scholarship funds. Totaling $100,000 since we began in 2019. Our scholarship goal in 2025 is $60,000 in awards to 12 students at six different high schools. - In 2024, we began financial literacy programming at Tennyson High School in Hayward, CA, and will continue it there in 2025 with the goal of expanding to Oakland International High School. Thank you, Gabriel Raddavero of Palo Rajo, for leading this programming. Thank you to our sponsor, Intero Real Estate. - In 2024, we presented the movie screening of Campesinos: America's Unsung Heroes, a film by Joe Poni, to a sold-out theater in Watsonville, CA, with over 230 guests. Please watch the video here. In 2025, we plan on hosting an event on the central coast supporting students from PVUSD. Stay tuned! - Because of the recent election, we know that 2025 will present a challenging year for our community. Our goals for 2025 include building tangible resources for first-generation, immigrant students, and vulnerable families that are easily accessible on our website and throughout our community. I'd like to thank Stupski Foundation for joining us as the Presenting Sponsor of our 5th Annual Gala, Live-Auction, and Fundraiser, again in 2025! Your support makes our vision possible. Also, thank you, Elisa Márquez Alameda County Supervisor for District 2, for joining us our Tia Sponsor! **A special recognition to new friends, sponsors, and donors of RSS including Yolanda Baldovinos and Darren and Cecilia Labrie. Your contributions to first-generation and immigrant students have inspired us to dream big in 2025. Finally, thank you! Your time and commitment to this mission: empowering first-generation and immigrant students by providing financial assistance, opportunities, and resources-- changes lives, not just for these students but for society as a whole.
