Rotary Southeast PA District 7450 has set up a fund to help support people affected by the disastrous fires in Los Angeles California. The District started the fund with a $2,500 gift that kicked off the campaign. Funds will be gathered and sent directly Rotary District 5280 in the fire region so that the local Rotary Clubs can determine where the most needs are and ensure the funds are used effectively. On a chilly late fall morning, Henry H. Houston Elementary School Principal Leroy Hall leads a cheerful “ABC Song” with third grade students who were excitingly waving dictionaries in the air. “A B C D E F G… now I know my…” Accompanying Hall in the school’s library were teachers and a half dozen Chestnut Hill Rotary volunteers. For more than a decade, Chestnut Hill Rotary volunteers raised funds, purchased dictionary/almanacs, and donated to 3rd grade students in public schools in Northwest Philadelphia. Rotary volunteers coordinate with the teachers and principals to distribute and interact with the students when they receive the books which are for them to take home. For many of the students, it is the first book that they can call their own. This video describes the impact of the project on their students and classroom learning both short and long-term from the educators' perspective. We're growing! The Rotary Club Of Chestnut Hill is honored to welcome another new member at the recent breakfast meeting. Julie Martini is a silversmith and a bookkeeper. Since moving from Maplewood, New Jersey a few years ago, she missed being a member of the Women's Club. She joined Rotary because she likes doing activities that benefit others, particularly those in need. "I think Rotary will fill that void in my life." Julie was joined by Ann Elkington, her sponsor, and Maxine Dornemann, Membership Chair. Become a member. Visit: https://lnkd.in/e-w7ht4K #rotary #rotaryclub #serviceaboveself #chestnuthillrotaryclub

Chestnut Hill Rotary's new vision statement: The vision of the Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill is an active and fun membership organization, dedicated to personal and professional growth by driving positive change for everyone in Northwest Philadelphia and beyond. Over a period of several months in 2024, Chestnut Hill Rotary members gathered to reimagine the club’s future and develop a new vision and plan to achieve that stated goal. The planning process began with an honest assessment of club experience. The leadership team utilized the Rotary Action Plan which was developed to improve the club experience and a meaningful, lasting change in our community. The four Rotary priorities are: Increase Our Impact; Expand Our Reach; Enhance Participant Engagement; and Increase Our Ability to Adapt. The priorities used to provide a framework for developing the specific plan for Chestnut Hill Rotary. “I particularly like the fact that the strategic plan focuses on our ongoing efforts to enhance the experiences of our members”, said Tim Sager, Treasurer. “We are in a significant growth phase and need to regularly assess whether we have social, educational and philanthropic activities that appeal to our group as our constituency evolves.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e5GFkra8 #strategicplanning #rotaryactionplan #rotaryclub #rotaryinternational #rotary #chestnuthillrotaryclub
