Food insecurity is a growing challenge in the United States, with 1 in 7 families struggling to put meals on the table, according to the latest USDA Food Security Report. Access to fresh, nutritious food shouldn't be a privilege—it should be a given. That's why we are proud to support food banks across the country, including Ozarks Food Harvest, by donating 66,004 pounds of potatoes to help families in need. These donations ensure that no good food goes to waste and that communities have access to the nourishment they deserve. This impact wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of food banks, volunteers, and organizations working to fight hunger every day. Their efforts make all the difference, and we are grateful to play a role in this mission. If you're looking for ways to support food security initiatives, we’ll be sharing resources in the comments. Every contribution—big or small—helps create a future where no one has to wonder where their next meal will come from. #FoodInsecurity #HungerRelief #FoodBanks #CommunitySupport #SustainableAgriculture #FoodAccess #CorporateResponsibility

The Super Bowl isn’t just about touchdowns and halftime shows—it’s when memories are made, traditions are honored, and the simple joy of gathering with friends and family takes center stage. At RPE, LLC we believe that fresh, high-quality produce can be the real MVP of these moments. Our Tasteful Selections LLC Organic Honey Gold Bite-Size Potatoes are more than just an ingredient—they’re part of the story, featured here in Melissa Coyle’s recipe for Air Fryer Football Potato Skins. But it’s not just about the food. The success of campaigns like this lies in the power of influencer marketing. Why does it work? Because it taps into authenticity. Consumers trust recommendations from real people who share their passions. Melissa’s recipe isn’t just a dish; it’s a connection, showing how simple ingredients can create memorable moments that resonate beyond the plate. From farm fields to football fields, influencer partnerships help us weave products into the fabric of everyday life. It’s about more than just feeding a crowd—it’s about nourishing traditions, creating new memories, and celebrating the flavors that bring us together. Turns out, great leadership doesn’t grow on trees—but with the right tools and a little dedication, it sure can flourish. Kendra Meddaugh is proof of that. Since enrolling in the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Management Fundamentals Certificate Program back in June, she’s been busy sharpening her skills, expanding her industry know-how, and, frankly, setting the bar pretty high. Now that she’s officially a graduate, Kendra’s bringing even more expertise (and probably a certificate worthy of prime fridge real estate) to the team. Leadership development isn’t just a box we check—it’s how we keep growing, adapting, and occasionally impressing ourselves. Congratulations, Kendra. You’ve earned it.

Recovery is about more than just rebuilding—it’s about coming together to support one another. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Healthy Family Project and Manna Food Bank for the Carry the Cause campaign, helping families in western North Carolina as they recover from Hurricane Helene. At RPE, LLC, we believe in showing up when it matters most—not just with food, but with hope and encouragement to keep moving forward. As Craig Fields, our VP of Business Development, put it: "Our goal is to offer not only support but the hope and inspiration they need to continue their recovery efforts and support those around them." We’re grateful to work alongside partners who share our commitment to making a real difference. Together, we can help communities heal, one step at a time. We both know dinner could always use a little starch support. 😉 Saw this on our Tasteful Selections LLC Instagram account and had to share—because there’s just something satisfying about seeing a well-stocked produce aisle. These 24oz Organic Pillow Pack Mesh potatoes are looking right at home at Hannaford Supermarkets in Maine. Bite-size potatoes have a way of fitting right into what shoppers are looking for: fresh, easy, and just a little bit special. Whether it’s the pop of color from Ruby Sensation or the familiar comfort of Honey Gold, there’s a reason this category keeps growing. Funny how a simple shelf pic can say so much about how fresh produce, packaging, and shopper habits are evolving. Always love seeing these little spuds out in the wild!

Grocery shopping isn’t what it used to be. Consumers today aren’t just tossing items into their carts—they’re searching for options that fit their packed schedules, align with their health goals, and support their values (without breaking the bank). From online ordering to ready-to-cook solutions, retailers are stepping up to meet these ever-changing expectations. And suppliers? We’re peeling back the layers to stay ahead. At RPE, we know fresh, high-quality produce isn’t just about being available—it needs to be accessible, convenient, and sustainable. Whether it’s our bite-sized potatoes that cook in a flash or our onions that bring the perfect touch to any dish (tears optional), we’re delivering solutions that meet today’s grocery demands. Because in this fast-moving world, it’s not just about delivering produce; it’s about delivering produce with purpose—one delicious bite at a time.

Last week Mike Shamberg and his family gathered with a large contingent of RPE, LLC “work family” at a restaurant in a north Chicago suburb to celebrate a long and distinguished career. Mike, who retired at the end of 2024, mixed effortlessly along with his wife, Janet, their two adult children, a soon-to-be son-in-law, a long-time produce industry veteran who Mike has known since high school, and more than 20 RPE team members (and now former colleagues). It felt like a big family reunion. Mike individually thanked several former colleagues while also expressing appreciation to the collective “RPE,” acknowledging that it would be difficult to thank everyone. There were a few jokes, including an old-standby: “Mike, could you sell a full load, just once?” Mike remembered our late colleague and friend Gary Hansen, who died in 2023, and saved special remarks for his close work confidant — Shannon McLarnan — a warm tribute to her stellar work during their professional time together. Cheers to a great event. Happy retirement, Mike Shamberg!

Today, we reflect on the profound legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the vital role agriculture played in the fight for civil rights. Agriculture has long been intertwined with the struggle for justice and equality in America. From the era of sharecropping—where many Black farmers and laborers faced economic hardship and systemic inequality—to the pivotal role rural communities played in the movement, agriculture was both a backdrop and a catalyst for change. Dr. King recognized the importance of economic empowerment for Black farmers and agricultural workers. He advocated for fair wages, land ownership, and access to resources as essential pillars of civil rights. The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), led by Dr. King, worked closely with rural communities—organizing cooperative farming initiatives and empowering agricultural workers to demand dignity and fair treatment. At RPE, LLC, we honor the resilience and contributions of those who fought for justice within the agricultural sector. We also recognize the ongoing need for equity and inclusion in our industry. As we celebrate Dr. King’s vision, we are reminded of the power of unity, perseverance, and the role agriculture continues to play in shaping a more just and equitable future. Let us take this day to honor the past, celebrate progress, and reaffirm our commitment to fostering opportunity for all. #MLKDay #HonoringTheDream #CivilRights #AgriculturalHistory #EqualityForAll #DiversityAndInclusion #RPESpud Tasteful Selections LLC
