We are thrilled to share that our Green River Energy Center has been awarded Renewables Deal of the Year by Project Finance International -- regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in project finance. This project represents a new benchmark for the industry as one of the largest solar and storage projects ever developed in the U.S., and one of the first and largest syndicated financings to leverage the Inflation Reduction Act's transferability rules without a parent guaranty. The financing was led by MUFG as administrative agent, with Crédit Agricole CIB, KeyBanc Capital Markets, Truist and Wells Fargo also in lead roles. rPlus Energies and 11 project partners are excited to team up with Utah State University Eastern to provide $375,000 for two scholarships — the Local First Scholarship and the Energy First Scholarship — supporting students from Emery and Carbon counties, home to our 800 MW solar-plus-storage project, Green River Energy Center. The Local First Scholarship supports students who wish to stay and contribute to their local communities, while the Energy First Scholarship ensures a skilled workforce for the growing energy sector, with programs like Welding, Wildlife Ecology, and Heavy Machinery Operation. “Each time we start construction on a project, we create a scholarship to invest in local talent. Initially, this was just the Local First Scholarship, designed to help students stay and contribute to their communities, whatever their chosen field. But as the energy sector grows, so has the need for the Energy First Scholarship, which encourages studies in fields essential to energy development,” said Luigi Resta, President and CEO of rPlus Energies. “For a places like Emery County and Carbon County, where energy production is part of the heritage, it’s a perfect match.” This initiative wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our partners: Kem Gardner, Sundt Construction, Nextracker Inc., EliTe Solar, Crédit Agricole CIB, TSJ Construction, LLC, BHI, CO, BODEC, Inc., CIBC, and Truist Securities.
