It's time for this year's Make Your Move event by WISE Kid-Netic Energy! Make Your Move is an annual celebration of engineering, coinciding with International Women’s Day today, March 8. In collaboration with schools across Manitoba, this event brings together 15-20 design-build-test teams of grade 8 students, each guided by a practicing engineer mentor. This year, RTDS Technologies is sponsoring Soumya Shilpi and Githmi Ranasinghe to participate in the event. The goal is to give girls a firsthand look into the world of engineering, inspiring and empowering them to consider it as a future career option. During the 2024 Europe User’s Group Meeting in Delft, Netherlands, industry experts shared groundbreaking applications of real-time simulation in power systems innovation. One remarkable presentation by Alkistis Kontou and co-authors from ICCS-NTUA explored Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing for Efficient and Resilient Operation of Inverter-Dominated Microgrids.
