About us
Rubber World Magazine, first published in October 1889, has chronicled the events and technological changes in the rubber industry since its inception. Now, one hundred and thirty years later, Rubber World is published twelve times a year providing the most up-to-date technical service information available to today's rubber chemists and formulators. It gives research and development personnel the most current technical know-how and provides plant engineering personnel with the latest equipment and production technology to produce high-quality and high-performance products demanded by today's industry.

❇️ SPRING TECHNICAL MEETING FEATURED SPEAKER Dr. Gregory B. McKenna, North Carolina University Session Topic: Rubber Characterization & Analysis Title: Rubbery Rings - Rheological Response of Large Macrocyclic Polymers 📢 On Thursday, March 6, Dr. Gregory B. McKenna of North Carolina State University will discuss the unique behavior of large and entangled polymer macrocycles. His presentation provides results of a rheological investigation PolyDODT rings that are made by Reversible Radical Recombination Polymerization (R3P). 🌟 About Dr. McKenna: Dr. McKenna is Research Professor at NC State with a reputation as a pioneering researcher in multiple areas of polymers, materials physics and engineering. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy receiving his bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanics in 1970. As part of his active duty, he attended MIT where he earned a master’s degree in the area of composite materials. He served as a Test Evaluation Engineer for the Air Force and obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Utah. Dr. McKenna joined NBS (now NIST) in 1977. He was the head of the Structure and Mechanics Group in the Polymers Division at NIST. In 1999, he moved to Texas Tech University as Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and John R. Bradford Endowed Chair in Engineering. At TTU, he served as Department Chair of Chemical Engineering and Paul Whitfield Horn Distinguished Professor. In 2021, he moved to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University. He is the recipient of multiple awards including the International Award from the Society of Plastics Engineers, the Mettler-Toledo Award of NATAS and the Bingham Medal of the Society of Rheology.
