Yazmin is the reason landscaping in Kansas City always looks amazing! With 12 years of experience in residential and commercial landscaping, design, project management, and city and regional planning, she brings so much expertise to the table. She’s been with RYAN for almost three years now, and we love having her on our team. Ryan Lawn & Tree is pleased to announce our first Extra Mile Award winner of 2025: Mike Hall! Mike has worked in our irrigation department since 2021. In that time, he has made an impact on all the people around him - coworkers and customers alike. He has offered support to coworkers during difficult times, even taking time out of his personal life to be there for them. At the same time, he has provided exceptional service to our customers. Recently, Mike was a witness to a major car accident. He immediately took action, helping to remove individuals from the wreck, and performed emergency CPR on an unresponsive child. His actions provided critical support during a very important moment. We are proud of Mike's work ethic and character, and we are proud to recognize him with this Extra Mile Award!

We just wrapped up our 2nd annual Irrigation Truck Show—a great way to kick off the season with fully stocked and organized trucks! At RYAN, we’re known for our clean red trucks, and this friendly competition helps ensure they stay that way. Impartial judges scored each truck on cleanliness and organization, reinforcing our commitment to efficiency and professionalism. Congratulations to Natalie Wheeler for earning the top spot this year! As dedicated, full-time professionals working year-round, they are committed to continuous learning—whether on the job or through specialized training sessions like this one. This dedication ensures that they’re always ready to offer the best solutions and service to our customers.

Derek Osburn has been named the Vice President of Revenue Generation at Ryan Lawn & Tree, where he drives the strategic vision and alignment of the Sales and Marketing teams. With over 18 years of experience in sales and marketing, Derek holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University and an MBA from Baker University. Derek takes pride in his work, knowing it helps customers enjoy their weekends and love their landscapes. Welcome to the team, Derek!

Chuck has been a part of the RYAN family since 2022, when he merged his company, CM’s Outdoor Solutions Group, with RYAN. With over 30 years of industry experience, he has shown a deep commitment to mentorship, professional development, and faith-based leadership—values that have always been at the heart of RYAN. Larry Ryan, our founder, has full confidence in Chuck’s leadership, saying, “Chuck brings a unique vision for the future that is so important for growing our employee-owned company.” Chuck’s mission is clear: to build on the foundation Larry established—one rooted in honoring God, serving others, and creating opportunities for our employee-owners. As he steps into this role, he is committed to ensuring RYAN’s legacy continues for generations to come.

After 38 years of dedicated leadership, Larry Ryan is stepping down as President of Ryan Lawn & Tree, marking a significant moment in our company’s history. He will continue serving as Executive Chairman of the RYAN Board of Directors. Larry built RYAN from the ground up—starting in his garage and growing it into a respected, employee-owned company with six branches, 500+ associates, and $80 million in annual revenue. But his greatest impact isn’t in the numbers—it’s in the values he instilled in all of us. His unwavering commitment to customer service, faith-based leadership, and putting employees first shaped RYAN into more than just a company. He made it a family. Larry’s legacy isn’t just in what he built—it’s in the people he’s inspired. As he told us, “The greatness of RYAN is in each of you.” And that’s what will carry us forward for years to come.

Our Annual Meeting is always a special time for our RYAN Pros to come together. This year, we welcomed over 500 team members to celebrate our successes in 2024 and set the stage for an even stronger 2025. It was a great opportunity to reflect, connect, and embrace the exciting improvements ahead.

Well…2025 is already teaching me some good lessons – like how to roll with the punches!! 😅 And the importance of keeping first things first. I was so honored to be invited to speak at Ryan Lawn & Tree’s annual conference, to introduce our company’s new core value, “Create Beauty,” to our team of 500+ landscape professionals. ✨ (It’s such a powerful and purposeful thing to create beauty!) 🌿🌸 However, an unexpected family emergency meant I needed to switch gears! I’m so grateful to work for a company that didn’t blink at my request to pre-record this session so that I could stay in Omaha to be present to my family while they needed me.
