Leadership is Communication🚀. 🌟I strongly believe that if you focused the larger part of your professional development on learning: ✅a) how to talk to people ✅b) how different people want to be talked to. 🚀You instantly are positioned to serve as the best follower to those you look up to and will know the secrets to take the driver seat when it’s your turn to lead the bunch. 🙏🏽The best part, I learned that running into this many kind and curious people willing to bet on themselves to do an amazing job in uncertain conditions to enjoy failing forward is rare! But with the NSBE mission the WHY is enough. Thank you Region 6 National Society of Black Engineers for accommodating such a productive Regional Leadership conference. And thanks to the amazing speaker, my personal favorite was Yaw (Ya-o) Dapaa🚪🔏.

  • Have you seen what our CEO Azhar Amir Kimanje🧨 and lead SWE Shukra Jaliya Nankabirwa have been up to in the AR for social justice tech space👀? Azhar Amir Kimanje and Shukra Jaliya Nankabirwa have been working in the forefront of coming up with solutions utilizing AR VR technology as a tool for accessibility into education and business where they receive direct feedback from professionals and students in the engineering/business fields that they are infact learning faster and more engaged with any curriculum introduced using this particular technology. These same groups continue to share that they now feel the motivation to keep growing with in AR technology outside of class under no instruction. 🚀 What does it mean to empower the people around you to achieve and do more?✅ Here we call Azhar & Shukra, the effortlessly dynamic duo👌 and we wish them great luck at the #nsbe50 conference in ATL!

For the past 4 months and continuing, I have developed and instructed custom AR VR 🚀development curriculum from scratch 🥳as the Lead technical lesson developer AR VR🧨, teaching through AVELA UW to Africatown Community Land Trust’s William Grose Center for Innovation. Class started out with 5 students and in the end had a total of 10 students!🙏🏽I have to say am very grateful for these numbers. I had a super team of co-instructors Shukra Jaliya Nankabirwa✅, Samira Shirazy✅ & Rukia Adan✅ that contributed largely through the design process of bringing these ideas to Empower students to achieve more with immersive technology as their tool! We got fast feedback to improve after every class👌 I will admit I like satisfaction of pitching then bringing new ideas to life just to say it wasn’t that hard!🚀. Even if it normally is hard to do things that haven’t been done before, it comes with it😅 I taught students utilizing technologies like Convai, DEVAR - 'canva' for #AR, Apple’s ARKit, Polycam, Unity using Google & Adobe’s ARCore, Cesium on Meta’s Quest 3 focused on languages: C#, C++, A-frame, and three.js I learned that because I chose to do something hard and new, I actually made an impact on students like me that will stay in high demand even after I complete my work. (Hard truth, the work never ends since it can always be improved🤷🏽♂️) Fun part😂: at the end of the 1st run of the program, I asked the students, whether they would buy a $3500 VR headset, Most of them said “Not yet!, why isn’t this AR VR headsets cheaper & easier to adopt for education if it is so much fun to use inside and outside of class” 👌 This is when I knew my work here was just getting started. Also here are some fun pictures of the students looking like aliens in my class. Don’t miss the next class if you see this😌

  • What’s inspiring and motivating about technology is not the technology, it’s the community that comes with it!🚀 Our CEO Azhar Amir Kimanje 🧨will be attending the National Society of Black Engineers Conference with the Seattle Pacific University NSBE team in Atlanta this March 20th to March 24th. NSBE mission: “to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community” We wish the SPU National Society of Black Engineers team a productive first #nsbe50 conference🥳.

As #nsbe50 approaches in 7 days🥳! I want to take this moment to highlight Jason Booker🧨 & EdXeno who has been our sole support to make it possible for my SPU National Society of Black Engineers team to attend the National Society of Black Engineers Conference in Atlanta. Yes, Region VI National Society of Black Engineers’ & SPU National Society of Black Engineers will be at your booth attending our first ever conference.🤩 If you don’t know what EdXeno, here is my pitch😋 EdXeno is what happens when technology merges the gap between highschool education and college application and counselor access eliminating barriers of accessibility for students and the support they need. Thank you to Jason Booker for asking only the right questions to get us the help we really need. I’m grateful to do a first #nsbe50 but even more satisfied it started with you! One thing I have done to prepare for this conference has been the STARS method🤝 Here are some fun pictures of when Jason Booker shared some of his work and journeys on a visit at Seattle Pacific University. 👌
