Thank you, Ethan Conrad Properties (ECP), for dedicating your Saturday to helping build a Habitat home in our Oak Park Development! 🏡✨💪 The day kicked off with the ECP team meeting the Habitat family who will soon call this house their home—a powerful reminder of the heart behind the hard work. 💙 After learning about Habitat’s mission and completing a safety orientation with our construction crew, they rolled up their sleeves and got to work! 🛠️ The team tackled some big tasks, including moving and organizing wood to install fence rails and pickets. They installed fencing along the entire left side of the home, moved exterior panels, and climbed three-level-high scaffolding to secure them in place. Their dedication and teamwork helped bring this home one step closer to completion. 🏠🌟 A huge thank you to Ethan Conrad Properties, Inc. for your incredible support! Thanks to Wells Fargo, we’re able to help families like the Perez family restore safety and pride to their longtime homes. 💙 At 81 and 79 years old, Mr. and Mrs. Perez have lived in their home for 50 years. After an early retirement from Hunt's Wesson Cannery and aging health, they struggled with much-needed repairs. Through our Rock the Block Bryte Broderick program, we replaced their outdated breaker box, allowing them to safely use multiple appliances for the first time in years. 🛠️✨ We also refreshed their home with new paint and cleanup, restoring its beauty. Now, the Perez family is proud of their home again, thanks to the generosity of Wells Fargo and the power of community! 🏡🙌 #WellsFargoBuilds #HabitatGreaterSac

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Jim Englander ✨ 🏆 2024 Golden Hammer Award Recipient For an incredible 35 years, Jim Englander has been a vital part of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento family. From his expertise in electrical work to his dedication to building homes, communities, and hope, Jim truly embodies the spirit of our mission. 💙 What Jim Loves About Habitat: 🔧 "Working on electrical." 💡 His advice to new volunteers? "Try it! It’s great, and you learn new things." A Few Fun Facts About Jim: 📺 He loves watching This Old House when he’s not out walking or volunteering. 🎨 He’s colorblind—a unique challenge he takes in stride while doing electrical work! 🍽️ If he could eat one meal forever? Steak, of course. Jim's favorite part of volunteering is working alongside Cliff Popejoy and the Electrical Crew, and his life motto is a simple yet powerful one: "Always treat people like you treat yourself." 🌟 Thank you, Jim, for your dedication, passion, and 35 years of service. A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Sacramento and Capitol Tech Solutions for bringing your energy and skills to our 36th Street build site on November 15th! 🙌✨ Fifteen dedicated volunteers—including Dan, a Habitat Board Member representing Rotary, and Justino Santana, a long-time Habitat friend from Capitol Tech Solutions—rolled up their sleeves to tackle several big tasks. 🏡💪 Together, they removed a stubborn old fence to prep for a new one, carefully transported and staged fiber cement siding, and caulked the house to get it ready for paint. With such an active construction site, safety was a top priority! Hard hats, goggles, and teamwork were essential as volunteers worked with nail guns, scaffolding, and heavy materials.
