What inspiration from this young man, Heman Bekele, TIME’s 2024 Kid of the Year! “A lot of people have this mindset that everything’s been done, there’s nothing left for me to do,” Herman says. “To anybody having that thought, [I’d say] we’ll never run out of ideas in this world. Just keep inventing. Keep thinking of new ways to improve our world and keep making it a better place.” Read more: https://ow.ly/fwqa50V3fV7 Celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth.

There are 220,000 victims of sudden cardiac arrest per year in the United States; about 10,000 sudden cardiac arrests occur at work annually. There is only a 5-7% survival rate when waiting for emergency medical personnel to arrive. Use of immediate defibrillation has shown up to 60% survival one year after sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs and employee safety training to use them help save lives.

February is American Heart Month and a great time to remind you that employee safety training on AED/CPR helps save lives. Here are the top reasons employers should invest in AEDs and employee training. • Workers may suffer sudden cardiac arrest while on the job. • Onsite AEDs save precious treatment time and can improve survival odds because they can be used before emergency medical service (EMS) personnel arrive. • A heart rhythm in ventricular fibrillation may only be restored to normal by an electric shock. • The AED is compact, lightweight, portable, battery operated, safe, and easy to use. Read more: https://ow.ly/jjF250UYLUb and let us know if you need on-site training for AED use and CPR.
