  • Holiday Fun Alert! Yesterday, we had the joy of welcoming Kent Place Middle School students back for the 2nd year in a row! These talented young women joined our Spend-A-Day crew to decorate gingerbread houses, spreading holiday cheer and creativity all around. This festive tradition has quickly become one of our favorite holiday activities, and we’re so grateful for the students’ energy and enthusiasm. Thank you, Kent Place School for helping us make the season bright!

  • Colette and Anthony from Siblings for Seniors stopped by yesterday with a pre-holiday drop off. They completed a bake sale and used the money to purchase a variety of pantry items for our Meals on Wheels program. In addition, they had a "Cozy Feet" fundraiser where they used the funds to buy warm and fuzzy socks, hot cocoa, and puzzle/word game books for the seniors to enjoy during the cold winter months. Thank you Colette and Anthony!

  • Lincoln-Hubbard 5th Grade Does It Again! A huge thank-you to the amazing 5th graders at Lincoln-Hubbard Elementary School in Summit for their incredible effort in supporting our Meals-On-Wheels program! These dedicated students collected bags and bags of non-perishable food to help our clients through the winter months. From creating eye-catching posters and spreading the word during morning announcements to visiting classrooms to talk about SAGE, the entire 5th grade class showed true leadership and compassion. We are so impressed by your hard work and generosity! Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on our community.

SAGE Eldercare provides care and companionship for older adults through its Spend-A-Day Medical Adult Day Center. Who can benefit from Spend-A-Day?  Older adults who want to remain in their own homes  Individuals looking for outside companionship  Caregivers in need of respite and support  Older adults in need of medical care  Individuals benefiting from a structured day This June we granted $40,000 to this program offering professional, compassionate, and engaging care. The program is licensed by the NJ Department of Health. Transportation assistance is available to Union County residents. In Union County, 21% of the population is over the age of 60, and almost 9% of the population are under the poverty level. SAGE’s senior programs serve seniors requiring adult medical daycare, as over 90% of their clients have some level of cognitive impairment from dementia, Alzheimer’s, or a stroke, and require a nurse on staff as well as hands-on assistance in everyday activities.
