🤝 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬, e.g. you still haven’t had colon cancer surgery or you have had it for less than 3 days, you may consider taking part in the trial. 👉 The patient involved in the SAGITTARIUS study has a 50% chance of being prescribed a treatment that may be more suitable for them, because it may be more effective or because it may avoid side effects from potentially unnecessary therapies. The good news is that quitting smoking can lower your risk and boost your overall health. Here’s how quitting helps: 🔹 Reduces the risk of 12 types of cancer, including colorectal cancer 🔹 Improves survival rates for colorectal cancer patients 🔹 Enhances recovery after cancer treatment, leading to better long-term health. 🔹 Lowers the risk of cancer recurrence At SAGITTARIUS, while our clinical trial focuses on personalized treatments for colon cancer patients using liquid biopsy, we also want to take it a step further. Siamo orgogliosi di annunciare l’avvio dello studio clinico SAGITTARIUS con i primi 6 pazienti reclutati! Coordinato da IFOM e finanziato da Horizon Europe, SAGITTARIUS segna l’inizio di una rivoluzione nel trattamento del cancro al colon. Con i primi 6 pazienti già reclutati, lo studio utilizza la biopsia liquida per personalizzare le terapie post-operatorie, migliorando l’efficacia dei trattamenti e riducendo la tossicità della chemioterapia. "Questo è solo l'inizio di un percorso che potrebbe cambiare la vita di milioni di pazienti" ha commentato Silvia Marsoni, coordinatrice scientifica di IFOM. Il progetto coinvolge Fondazione AIRC per la Ricerca sul Cancro ETS e 7 partner in 5 Paesi europei, con un focus su Italia, Spagna e Germania. 🎉 Exciting news from SAGITTARIUS! We are delighted to announce that patient recruitment has officially begun, with our first patients now enrolled in the study! Over the coming months, clinical sites across Italy, Germany, and Spain will gradually open, with more patients to be included in this groundbreaking trial. This marks a significant milestone in the SAGITTARIUS clinical trial, which aims to revolutionise colon cancer treatment.
