People living with diabetes are at a greater risk of developing other serious health complications like blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke and in some cases loss of toes, feet or legs. When diabetes is properly managed, the risk of complications decreases. Over the weekend, our President and Market Leader Dr. Gurvinder Kaur spent time alongside members of our Senior Leadership team to provide warm meals, coats and more for families in need at the newly-renovated City Center campus in Fresno. 'Tis the season of giving and gratitude and Saint Agnes Community Health & Well-Being is hosting TWO clothing donation drives to support our community! 🧦 SOCKS AND SLIPPERS DRIVE 🧦 Our Saint Agnes Emergency Department is gathering socks and slippers (free of holes and stains) to provide to patients in need when they're discharged. Donations for Socks and Slippers will be accepted at the Saint Agnes Health Hub (1111 E. Spruce Ave.) and Holy Cross and Wellness Center (421 F. Street). 🧥 WINTER COAT DRIVE 🧥 We're collecting coats (free of holes and stains) to support our clients of the Holy Cross Health and Wellness Center in Downtown Fresno. Donations for Winter Coats will be accepted only at Holy Cross and Wellness Center (421 F. Street). After receiving a request to visit a patient who had been put on comfort measures, Chaplain Frances took the time to listen and understand the patient’s need to connect with their son one more time. After multiple attempts to connect with various family members, Chaplain Frances persevered and arranged a FaceTime call with the patient and their son who was able to arrange a ride to the hospital to be with the patient during their final breath. Chaplain Frances embodies the mission and vision of spiritual care that ‘No One Dies Alone.’ She understood the patient’s desire to see their son before passing—and she never gave up.
