We were thrilled to have five San Diego Diplomacy Council representatives attending last week's Global Ties U.S. National Meeting! What a week of advocating, connecting, learning, and celebrating public diplomacy. #PublicDiplomacy #IAmAGlobalLeader
I have never been more grateful to collaborate with such an outstanding network of visionaries, empaths, and doers. The Global Ties U.S. community is truly like no other, and it was my absolute pleasure to support our work in citizen diplomacy and foreign affairs through my role on the 2025 National Meeting Planning Committee. Building stronger alliances and stronger communities is critical. It always has been. World-class international exchange programs like the International Visitors Leadership Program, continue to have a resounding impact throughout the United States and beyond. An 11:1 return on investment, channeling funds directly into the U.S. economy, is an undeniably impressive number. Not to mention the 257,844 hours of service engaged through the Global Ties U.S. network in the last year alone. International exchange is an effective, low-cost tool in our foreign policy toolkit that delivers proven and repeatedly outstanding results. If you want to learn more about the work of the Global Ties U.S. network, and how you too can become an advocate for public diplomacy and foreign policy - please reach out! A few highlights from last week in Washington, D.C. ✨ - Grateful to be part of such a dedicated and passionate National Meeting 2025 Planning Committee! - We spent the day on Capitol Hill advocating for the support of international exchange with our Californian representatives including Mike Levin, Young Kim, and Adam Schiff. - It was an honor to meet Ambassador Lui Tuck Yew, Singapore Ambassador to the United States. The impressive buffet and Singapore Slings were a definite highlight. - Thank you to everyone who attended our session on “Communicating Local Impact: Showcasing Results and Telling Your Story”. I’ve learned a few tricks on how to apply effective communications strategies over the years, and it was a pleasure to share some best practices with the network. Here's to doing it all again soon 😁
