وقّع الاتحاد السعودي للرياضات الإلكترونية والمدينة الطبية بجامعة الملك سعود مذكرة تفاهم تهدف إلى تعزيز الصحة البدنية والنفسية للاعبي الرياضات الإلكترونية، وتطوير برامج صحية متقدمة، وإجراء أبحاث مبتكرة في هذا المجال. تتضمن مجالات التعاون إجراء أبحاث رائدة تُعد الأولى من نوعها في مكافحة المنشطات في الرياضات الإلكترونية، ودراسة تأثير النشاط البدني على لاعبي الرياضات الإلكترونية، بالإضافة إلى الوقاية من الإصابات وعلاجها. كما تشمل المذكرة تشكيل لجنة طبية متخصصة في مكافحة المنشطات لضمان الامتثال لأفضل المعايير العالمية. تعزز هذه المذكرة ريادة المملكة العربية السعودية عالميًا في قطاع الرياضات الإلكترونية، حيث تمثل خطوة تاريخية في حوكمة القطاع ودمج مفاهيم الصحة والعافية بأساليب مبتكرة. تأتي هذه الجهود انسجامًا مع أهداف رؤية السعودية 2030 والاستراتيجية الوطنية للألعاب والرياضات الإلكترونية. وتمتد المذكرة لمدة ثلاث سنوات، مما يجعلها من أوائل الاتفاقيات من نوعها على مستوى العالم. يهدف هذا التعاون إلى تطوير أفضل الممارسات في قطاع الألعاب والرياضات الإلكترونية، وتحسين جودة حياة اللاعبين، ودعم الصحة العامة، وتشجيع الابتكار. كما يسعى إلى تحقيق التميز في الرياضات الإلكترونية من خلال توفير المتطلبات الصحية اللازمة، مما يعزز مكانة المملكة في هذا المجال المتنامي عالميًا. The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) and King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on implementing physical and mental wellbeing initiatives, developing health programs and conducting advanced research for esports players. Specific areas of joint focus include groundbreaking research into anti-doping in esports, the importance of physical activity for esports athletes and preventing and managing injuries. A medical committee will be established to combat doping. The MoU – which positions Saudi Arabia as a global leader in esports governance and integrating health and wellness into esports – aligns with the aims of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the National Gaming and Esports Strategy. The MoU lasts for a duration of three years and is one of the first of its kind in the world. The collaboration between SEF and KSUMC will enhance best practice in gaming and esports to improve the lives of the gaming community. It advances public health, fosters innovation and fully focuses on esports excellence and the health requirements that are vital to ensure esports excellence.
