Hi friends! Thank you to everyone who came out to our first mobile sauna pop-up in downtown Durham, North Carolina. It was a big success. We had some great conversations in the sauna, and we really enjoyed getting to know members of the community. Thank you also to everyone who donated provisions for Hurricane Helene relief. We are extremely grateful for all of the support. Our team drove to Asheville to hand-deliver all donations to our partners working to support those in need. We have moved much of our corporate staff, retail products, inventory and now all of our plants to Durham as our new HQ while Asheville remains without water. This pop-up is a great way for us to keep moving forward as we deal with the uncertainty and destruction from the hurricane. We will also continue to collect donations at our pop-up for Hurricane Helene relief. Current items in high demand are: 2-5 gallon buckets with lids, water filtration kits, headlamps with batteries, LMNT salt sticks, Benadryl and 5 gallon reusable water jugs (as opposed to single use plastic water). Update from Asheville. Since opening our doors, community building has been a central theme at Sauna House, driving many of our biggest decisions. This week, community has meant problem-solving with newly formed friends in unconventional ways. It's meant turning individual challenges into shared victories and helping others feel just a little less vulnerable when things are uncertain. Our Sauna House Durham team just brought down water, gas, diesel, and portable cooking stoves with fuel to help reach the more rural parts of Asheville and the surrounding areas. We have team members in Asheville doing their best to help the community. If you are looking to help out: World Central Kitchen has been feeding neighbors on the ground here in Asheville, delivering prepared meals to the community and via helicopter to areas that do not have road access. BeLoved Asheville is another great organization working selflessly to provide food, water, and supplies to neighbors in need. In Durham, we will be launching a mobile sauna pop-up and cold plunge where you can support our organization and drop off needed products and we will work with our team and partners to ensure they get delivered to those in need. Construction progress is coming along nicely at Sauna House in Bonita Springs, Florida. 🏡🚧 Check out Sauna House owner Robert Sorenson, PhD, CSCS, CSPS touring the impressive 4503 sq. ft. bathhouse in downtown Bonita Springs. The underground plumbing is officially complete, and we’re moving on to shaping the walls and electrical work. All furniture and fixtures have also been ordered. Our communal sauna measures 19x11, making it large enough for up to 30 people. It will be an amazing communal sauna experience. Some might say we got a thing for transforming historical buildings into beautiful bathhouses, while maintaining all of their architectural charm 🏠🫧 With multiple new locations on the way, Sauna House has been prioritizing what’s called Adaptive Reuse. This is a construction term that focuses on repurposing existing buildings while maintaining their historical and architectural integrity, rather than demolishing them and starting from scratch.
