If you’ve had the chance to read SavvyU’s previous posts from 2024, a lot of them highlighted SavvyU’s college admissions consulting efforts, which all happen with the aim of clients launching into highly successful careers. That work is also closely tied to leadership as over 90% of SavvyU college admissions consulting clients have been leaders at their levels in many ways, then gone on to lead at their universities, and the companies that they have worked at At SavvyU, career development and leadership development for individuals and within organizations have all ways been key focal points of our work. The following post focuses on servant leadership and career development, which can give you more insight into SavvyU’s leadership and career development perspectives and efforts. Both leadership and career development play pivotal roles at some point in our employment journeys, and there are many kinds of both. One of my favorite leadership styles is servant leadership, because truly looking out for others–be they customers, clients, patients, or employees–makes organizations better. Plus, servant leaders can also be very strategic, situational, transformational, democratic, authoritative (when necessary), and visionary as a means to serve stakeholders at any given moment. Servant leaders at organizations that have the resources, capacity, and ability to provide highly effective career development opportunities set the stage for their companies to be the best of the best. This kind of leadership within innovative organizations provides a highly effective means of supporting employees in a perpetually evolving world of technological advances in software, hardware, and materials where maintaining and/or increasing market share are extremely important. With employees' increased awareness and advanced consciousness, prioritizing career development is often one of the key components of best-in-class companies of all kinds, especially those with servant leadership qualities that attain and retain top talent at all levels.
