Ram has opened orders for its first fully electric cargo van, the 2025 Ram ProMaster EV. Designed for commercial use, it comes in three configurations, two cargo models and a step van. Colorado is enhancing its EV charging infrastructure with $17.3 million in grants through the Direct-Current Fast-Charging (DCFC) Plazas program. Funded by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program and State of Colorado Community Access Enterprise (CAE), the initiative will support new fast-charging stations across the state, focusing on filling gaps along alternative fuel corridors and addressing local needs in areas impacted by transportation-related air pollution. As EVs now account for 25.3% of new car sales and over 161,000 EVs are on Colorado roads, the state aims to meet rising demand by ensuring fast chargers are within 30 miles of 80% of its highway network. Notable awardees include Tesla, Rivian, and Love's Travel Stops. The next DCFC funding round will open in Spring 2025. New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is expanding its zero-emission fleet with 265 new buses, building on the 60 buses introduced last year and 205 more expected later this year. Each bus will help cut greenhouse gas emissions by 90 metric tons annually and feature regenerative braking systems. To support the fleet, the MTA and New York Power Authority are developing advanced charging infrastructure, including overhead pantographs and electric bus depots, with the Jamaica Depot set for completion by 2027. The depot will meet LEED sustainability standards, featuring a green roof and noise-reducing barriers. These efforts aim to fully transition the MTA’s fleet to electric, reducing emissions and improving air quality across New York City.
