Only 5% of U.S. colleges require calculus, but 89% of admissions officers see it as a predictor of college success. Freshman enrollment took a hit this year. A Cornell study finds removing race from college admissions, per the 2023 Supreme Court ruling, drastically reduces diversity without improving academic merit.
