Last Friday, the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund hosted an end-of-semester celebration dinner featuring a Jeffersonian-style discussion with the entire Fall 2024 cohort, Scott Robinson, Dean Marc Norman, our distinguished speakers and honorable guests. 🥂 Our discussions delved into impactful topics, including the influence of tariffs and policies on REITs and the broader real estate sector. Last week, the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund’s Management Team—James Azarian, Zoe Kimmelman, Thomas Walsh and Jack D'Agostino—along with our faculty advisor, Scott Robinson delivered an exceptional presentation during an informational session at NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. The session aimed to introduce the REIT Fund to Schack students interested in joining the Spring 2025 cohort. We would like to spotlight Jake C., another valuable member of the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. Jake has recently completed his time at the REIT Fund, where he specialized in the residential sector, with a strong focus on manufactured homes. Jake is pursuing a Master’s degree in Real Estate, specializing in finance and investments. He has demonstrated exceptional performance in his academic pursuits, evidenced by maintaining a 3.9 GPA and being selected as the recipient of both the Cushman & Wakefield and Capital Markets scholarships. In addition to demonstrating a strong commitment to his educational goals, Jake worked as an Alternative Investment Analyst at Capital Advisor Partners. In this role, he played a key role in launching an investment fund, securing funding, and sourcing new investors. This past summer, Jake worked as an Acquisition and Development Analyst at RockFarmer Properties, where he performed financial analysis and cash flow modeling on commercial real estate properties across Texas and New York City. This Fall, Jake will be working as a Teacher’s Assistant for Professor Timothy Savage’s Real Estate Finance class. We wish him continued success in his future endeavors! 🌟 Coming back from Labor Day, we would like to highlight a few departing members of the NYU SPS Schack REIT Investment Fund. ⬇ Today, we recognize Jackson Owens, a former member of the REIT Fund and an MSRE candidate who focused on Investment and Real Estate Development. With personal experience in multifamily real estate investing and over seven years in management consulting, Jackson brought a wealth of diverse perspectives to our team. His expertise in supply chain and operations for numerous Fortune 100 companies and his ability to manage large-scale projects and perform detailed Excel analyses made him an invaluable asset to the Fund. As an analyst for the Office sector, Jackson's work led to strategic investments and optimized allocation, aligning with the Fund’s strategy and driving greater returns. Jackson joined the REIT Fund to deepen his knowledge of REIT investing and valuation while collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
