“There is irrefutable scientific evidence and strong bipartisan support for reclassifying cannabis,” said Adam Goers, chairman of Coalition for Cannabis Scheduling Reform, which includes companies and health and legal experts. “We are confident that, if there is a fair and impartial process, this historic shift will be completed soon.”

Big thanks to Benzinga for highlighting the growing momentum behind cannabis rescheduling!🙌 As Dutchie's VP Bryan Barash puts it, "We believe that rescheduling, which is very close to a complete process, is going to be the first step in finally having federal normalization." This is a vital foundation for building a more just and equitable cannabis industry, one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. 💚💪 Read the full article to learn more about how rescheduling will impact businesses, consumers, and the future of cannabis ⬇️ https://hubs.li/Q02VRFpm0 #rescheduling #federallegalization #dutchie #benzinga

"Reclassifying cannabis is smart science, smart policy, and smart politics. With last night's announcement by former President Trump, both major party candidates support moving cannabis down to Schedule III. There should be no further delay. "Americans overwhelmingly support reclassifying cannabis, and there is irrefutable scientific evidence for the move. Regardless of the outcome in November, it is clear that cannabis will soon be rescheduled after spending more than 50 years alongside heroin on Schedule I. "Today makes clear that reclassifying cannabis is not a partisan issue. The shift will benefit millions of Americans and mark a clear break from the failed policies of the past. We look forward to swift action by the Drug Enforcement Administration to finalize the proposed rule."

A hearing was always a possibility, and we are prepared for it. We believe that medical evidence and public opinion are overwhelmingly in favor of a swift final rule. If the Drug Enforcement Administration moves ahead with the hearing, we urge them to conduct it in a timely manner. Members of our coalition have petitioned to participate in any hearing. Now that the Drug Enforcement Administration has granted one, we expect to have a seat at a table. The Biden Administration's review of cannabis has been expedited at every stage, and we remain optimistic that the proposed rule will be finalized this year.
