  • This Native American Heritage Day, we’re reflecting on the powerful assembly held earlier this month at Scholarship Prep Orange County in celebration of National Native American Heritage Month. We had the honor of welcoming back RedBoy Productions, a Native American family dance group led by Ba’ac Garcia of the Tohono O'odham Nation. Scholars were immersed in: The Drum’s Story: The heartbeat of the Earth, symbolizing connection and unity. Dynamic Dances: From the energy of the Men’s Fancy Dance to the mesmerizing hoop dance, every movement told a story. A Special Reading: Indigenous stories were brought to life through literature, teaching lessons about inner beauty and strength. This celebration was a chance to learn, connect, and appreciate the traditions and values that Indigenous peoples bring to our shared history. Thank you, RedBoy Productions, for inspiring our Scholars and reminding us all of the importance of honoring culture. #NativeAmericanHeritageDay #ScholarshipPrep #CharterSchool #TK8School #RedBoyProductions #CelebratingCulture

  • Meet Elizabeth Prado, Scholarship Prep Orange County’s devoted 4th-8th grade Office Manager! Elizabeth has been an invaluable part of Scholarship Prep for three years, starting as an attendance clerk before moving into her current role as Office Manager. Each day, she goes above and beyond to support students, staff, and families—helping create a positive, productive environment for all. What’s a Day in the Life Like? Elizabeth’s days are full of action—assisting teachers, coordinating resources, supporting the principal, and, most importantly, being there for our students. “Each interaction is an opportunity to make a difference,” she says. From organizing classroom materials to offering guidance, Elizabeth ensures our 17th Street campus feels like a welcoming community. Staying Organized: With so much happening daily, Elizabeth keeps everything running smoothly with her well-planned to-do lists, focusing on what’s most important so she can be present and responsive to students and staff. Why Scholarship Prep? For Elizabeth, the most rewarding part of her role is the relationships she builds with families and students. “Supporting their growth, celebrating their successes, and fostering a strong sense of community is incredibly fulfilling,” she shares. To her, Scholarship Prep is more than just a school; it’s a family where everyone feels connected. Outside the Office: When Elizabeth isn’t at school, she’s a proud mom to two daughters, one of whom recently joined Scholarship Prep as a Scholar! In her free time, she and her family love to visit Disneyland, enjoying the magic and making memories together. Fun fact: Elizabeth is the youngest of six sisters—no brothers! Thank you, Elizabeth, for all that you do to make every day at Scholarship Prep special for our Scholars. We’re grateful for the positivity and dedication you bring to our community!

  • At the 8th Annual Wellness Together Student Mental Wellness Conference, Scholarship Prep took an active role in strengthening our approach to student well-being. Kristen (Rivas) Crowe (Chief Community Officer) led our School Counseling team—Efren Castillo (South Bay), Charity Grieshaber (Oceanside), Alisha Rodriguez (Orange County TK-3), Sean Van Gundy (Orange County 4-8), and Courtney Winters (Oceanside)—as they immersed themselves in sessions tackling trauma-informed practices, post-crisis recovery, and the transformative power of building relationships within the school community. Meanwhile, Andrew Crowe (Deputy Director) and Taylor Ellis (Chief Academic Officer) presented a session on staff wellness, focusing on practical strategies for creating a supportive work environment that directly impacts student achievement and satisfaction. At Scholarship Prep, we know that the emotional wellness of our students begins with strong, compassionate support systems. The insights we gained from this conference will shape how we continue to prioritize both student and staff well-being, ensuring our school communities remain places where everyone can thrive. #ScholarshipPrep #CharterSchool #TK8Education #StudentWellness #MentalHealthSupport #TraumaInformedCare #EducationMatters #StaffWellness #CommunityBuilding #StudentSuccess #WellnessTogether #CharterSchools #HolisticEducation

  • Our annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration concluded with performances by our talented South Bay TK-8th grade students, honoring the rich contributions of the Latinx community. From TK’s rendition of “Tingalayo” to the After School Dance Club’s performance of “La Vida es un Carnaval,” every grade shined! We also loved seeing our 7th grader's powerful solo of “México Lindo y Querido” by the famous ranchera singer Pedro Fernandez. A special thank you to our devoted staff for guiding and preparing the students and our wonderful families who spent the morning celebrating with us. Together, we embraced the vibrant culture and history that makes our community so special. #HispanicHeritageMonth #ScholarshipPrep #SouthBay #Wilmington #VivaLaCultura #TK8 #CharterSchool
