Hugely enjoyed the Scirearly Project Horizon Europe High-Quality Early Childhood Education policy workshop today. 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘈 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘴 🌍 Carlton Grange Primary is located in the northeast of England and serves 469 pupils aged 2 to 11 in one of the country’s most economically deprived areas. 🏫 Despite significant challenges, such as a high percentage of students with English as an additional language and high mobility rates, the school stands out with high grade averages, attendance rates and satisfaction among teachers, students and parents. Today marks the 35th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The UNCRC outlines 54 articles that define and protect children's rights. Under this convention, governments are committed to meeting every child's basic needs and supporting them in reaching their full potential. This includes the right to quality education—designed to nurture each child's personality, talents, and mental and physical abilities to the fullest. The SCIREARLY project supports these principles by investigating how to keep children in school, particularly those at risk of leaving early. The project aims to ensure that schools provide the best possible opportunities for children to succeed in their learning while fostering their cognitive development and psychosocial well-being.  European Research Executive Agency (REA) #WorldChildrensDay

📣 SCIREARLY partners contributed educational practices that foster inclusion at the 'A Place To Be (long)' conference on refugee children and the role of the educational community yesterday. 📝 Rocío García Carrión presented at the conference 'A Place To Be(long) - Refuge, Human Rights and Reception: Schools as an axis of coexistence hosted by Fundación Social Ignacio Ellacuría at the University of Deusto. She highlighted two successful educational practices - interactive groups and dialogic gatherings - that schools can adopt to foster inclusion of all. 🏫 Inviting parents and community volunteers to participate enriches the classroom and contributes to building a stronger, more inclusive community.
